COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2007 Bottle. I actually really enjoyed this beer. The color was a nice pilsner color, aroma was full of blueberry (pretty nice), head was small. The overall taste was nice, great for a hot day in the south. Overall, I enjoyed this brew (suprisingly). Thinking about getting this one in a keg for the spring time.

Pours golden to light amber,The aroma is strong in wheat with little malt. The taste is smooth blueberry front to back with some small wheat taste. No hop flavor or bitterness to think of. Overall this is good but not great. I would recommend to people that like fruit flavored beers or blueberry.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Blueberry muffin aroma. The flavor has blueberry and sugar on a bready malty base. Like blueberry mini-muffins. Pretty good.

Aroma isn’t particularly beer-like but it definitely smells delicious, assuming you like blueberry muffins. Blueberry flavor is surprisingly light, given the aroma, which is no bad thing. Not at all syrupy or cloying.

Appearance is medium white head with a light amber color. Aroma is a sweet fruit. Taste is almost a cheap beer malt, but also sweet fruit - blueberry and apricot. Overall not the best.

Bottle. Pours clear golden thin white head. Fruity blueberry aroma, sweet bread. Very mild sweetness, simple refreshing flavor. Light body, lively carbonation, mild blueberry in the finish. Easy to drink, fruit beer that can actually be a decent session beer.

On tap. Golden colored and served with a decent lasting frothy head. While this is certainly wheaty and consisting of blueberries, it also comes across as rather malty. Slick and buttery going down with the addition of grain and toffee. Little to no hop presence. Meh. Decent at best.

Blueberry muffin beer. Decent blueberry aroma. No hops really, I would evolved to taste those centinneal hops. Oh well, this is the beer you bust out when you wanna bang a 19 year old.
