3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
My first Sweetwater brew. Tackle Box retrieved from Wine World in Panama City Beach, FL on a family vacation. [A] Smells like a blueberry snack cake. Or something around those lines. Some pale and grainy malt whiffs. Not offensive, for a fruit beer. Simple. Delightfully sweet. [A] A very pale yellow with a fizzy white head into glass. [F] Flavor is pretty simple, too. Pale malts. Biscuity. Bueberry is really subdued, which is a great thing to me. Sweetness hangs around. Nothing rancid. [P] Light mouthfeel. Not a big hop bitter, but enough crisp to keep my interest. Decent carbonation. Drinkable. [O] I despise most fruit beers. Haven’t tried a whole lot, because the ones I HAVE tried, totally suck. But this was a nice balance. Would probably make a nice intro to micros. Great summery brew. Beat’s the shyt out of Berry Weiss. Nothing to rave about, but I’ll give it some credit for NOT being the total disappointment I had expected.

Sampled at Bier Baron DC pours a clear gold with some slim, white head. Nose has quite a bit of berry, some of that cheap blueberry muffin, lightly gristy, white flour. Flavor has just berry, not much else, some cheap artificial sweetness. Watery finish. Would not order again.

Wasn't expecting to care for this, but I have to admit that this makes me want blueberry pancakes. Imagine a nice wheat, that doesn't bloat, but with a pleasant blueberry aftertaste. On tap at brewery.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The smell was skunky & it was way before the expiration. Color was nice golden blonde but the blueberry taste was like artificial kind found in cereal.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from a12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- slight hint of blueberries followed by a wheat backdrop
Appearance- this beer is a clear golden color. A one inch white head that doesn’t stay long
Taste- A definite taste of semi-sweet blueberries and wheat. Not a bad combo
Palate- A mildly carbonated and slightly dry feel. Definitely a summer time brew
Overall- an OK summer time brew, I really hoped that I would have enjoyed this more. It is brewed locally so I think I need to give it another try and see if I wasn’t giving it, its do.
