COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tingling with excitement, el dank hopped the fur bus and rolled to the panic show at The Fox. Boogieing down to Chilly Water, he noodled into a cute little wookie that blew his mind and yanked him from some post show get down at the Clermont lounge. Stumbling and bumbling with blondie, he got booted, and went home for some shut eye. Dreaming of the wet wookie, he awoke to his dog licking his tongue, realizing he was late for his night shift at SweetWater. Fumbling through his brew and dry hopping duties, el danko hit the wall, and passed out mid-shift. Waking up to Nick Nock screaming WTF, he frantically ran around putting out fires. As the haze cleared he realized he had left the mill running, jacking up the OG and dry hopping the wrong tank. Fuddied up after the most insane 36 hours, el Danko pondered his delirious creation, a chubby 420 India Pale Ale! Huh??? Ducking trouble, he quickly swept the abominable snowman under the rug, as he sent the 420 IPA to the bottling line boys in an effort to hide his momentoustus F- up.

Sampled at the Trail Magic release party. Pours light copper with off-white head. The aroma is dank with herbal hops and some slight fruitiness. The flavor is general hoppiness with some fruit. The hop character seems more muddy than bright, but it’s still a pretty tasty beer.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is strong of floral hops and caramel malts with not much else. Flavor is similar with some bitter finish. Overall I was hoping for more.

Pours an orange color with a large off-white head. Aroma of citrus and malts. Flavor of sweet malts and light citrus and floral hops. Some decent bitterness at the finish. Easy to drink but not quite a DIPA or IIPA.

22 oz. bottle. Pours dark copper with a thin beige head and nice lacing. The aroma is strong hop notes of pine, resin and flowers. The flavor is very bitter, with nice malt balance. The palate is medium to heavy, a little astringent, and smooth. Overall, this is a great feeling, tasty IPA.

Orange pour with creamy white head and lace. Citrusy orange hops and bread on the aroma. Sweet caramel malt, abv, and resiny hop flavor. Smooth carbonation and medium body. Nice beer.

Such a hoppy brew. 420 is great but this beer has so much more bitterness. Glad I got to sip on it.

Bottle thanks to GAManiac. Deep orange with off-white head. Aroma is floral grapefruit, light citrus, and bready caramel malt. Taste is citrus bitterness with a very solid caramel and biscuit malt backbone. Finishes lightly dry with some residual bitterness, but ultimately a lot of sticky, fruity caramel malt. Decent, but would prefer more hops.

Palate was medim bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of carmel, pink grapefruit, tangerine, light tropical fruit and light pine withg a smooth dry bitter lingering fruity finish.

22 ounce bottle - $5.99 at Olde Crabapple Bottle Shoppe in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out a hazed, coppery body with a solid inch of lasting, near white foam.

Smell: Brightly citrusy nose of citronella and tangerine-flavored aspirin with some additional florals and soap suds ahead of the cookie sugar sweet accents (though a bit of time helps bring the latter up a bit more).

Taste: Bready, lightly grainy maltiness, and lots of it, with a pop of sweetness that precedes the rolling citrus oils and chewable children’s aspirin (again, tangerine-flavored). Medium-high bitterness. Thankfully, the aspirin edge eventually drops off from each sip leaving a fairly nice lingering of sweetish orange beyond the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Ever so slight oiliness present in the mouthfeel.

Overall: A big ole imperialized hoppy brew that, thankfully, isn’t quite as harsh as anticipated. Not nearly as esteemed as the previous Dank Tank release, Fresh Sticky Nugs, though decent enough. However, all these hoppy this-or-that Dank Tank brews are really starting to run together for me.

22oz bottle, blue and yellow label. Dark amber, fluffy head, nice lace. Looks like a 420. Smells like an Imperial 420. Hoppy citrus and pine, sweet pale malts. Aroma of cereal and hops. Yum. Tastes like HOPS. Soapy hop character, lots of fruit, mixed berries, apricot pit bitterness, sharp pine and wooded timber bite. Very hoppy. Period. Oily body. Malt sweetness adds some balance to the overall bitterness. Finishes with a green hop and resinous hop oily character that make me want to take the next sip. Don’t plan on tasting anything else after drinking this bottle, unless we’re talking some spicy chili. Hearty, spicy food pairs perfect for this hop bomb. Out of all of the Dank Tank brews, this one has really got me.
