COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Up next, we are crossing borders and boundaries with the latest Dank Tank creation - Border Hopper, with a little help from their friend, Seńor Dank, who left his full bodied wife, Lupa, and their eight screaming babies in search of the freshest hop harvest in the land and the promise fields of Buford Highway. His censored journey began in the hop fields of Yakima where he scored some of the stickiest, freshest green hops, found a farmer’s daughter, and ended up in Atlanta where he deals his stash to the boys at SweetWater to create this highly aggressive, censored, and muy fresh double India pale ale. This brew is pushing the envelope as our newest addition to the series of rarely released, experimental beers. The double IPA, brewed with fresh Citra hops, is 8.6 percent ABV, comes in 22 ounce bottles and on draft and is best served fresh. But act fast because this stash won’t last forever. Just like that rash you got in Tijuana, the Border Hopper will be gone just as soon as the next brewing itch needs to be scratched.

Bomber courtesyu of Craftbeerdesign poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of skunk bud, biscuit, pine, grapefruit and grassiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a watery finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, light pine and light grassiness with a smooth moderatly bitter watery finish.

Amber, slightly golden appearance with a thin white head. Aroma is fresh hops and a little grassy. Flavor is hoppy, a little piney with minor grapefruit in the finish. Overall tastes like a slightly supercharged version of their 420. Really like this one, would have again if I can find it.

In short: A straightforward grassy and citrusy IPA a bit weak on the malt side. Good beer, average for the style.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed fresh. Tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Almost clear golden body topped by a very small off-white head
In long: Nose of herbal hops with a freshly cut grass juice character reminding me of many harvest IPAs. A tiny bit of cat piss in the aroma (I often get that). Taste has discreet bready malts followed by a good amount of hops with a grass juice and slightly citrusy signature. Alcohol is mostly well hidden especially considering that the body is a bit on the thin side for that size of beer. Bitterness level is medium. This one didn’t stand out in any way but it was nonetheless a good, like so many other American IIPAs. Border Hopper is a racist slang for a Mexican immigrant. I despise racist stereotypes like that. Racism is a crime therefore being a racist is being a criminal and I am not a criminal. Mexicans and black people are criminals.

22 oz bomber from Pat. Orange pour with a white head. Vibrant citrus aroma. Very juicy flavor, no hops bitterness at all. It’s actually more sweet than bitter. Very approachable for a double IPA.

bottle(thanks Wes!) at Morrie’s tasting(12Nov10)pours bright gold with a rocky medium white head. Aroma is dank citrus hops. Flavor is dry stale pale malts, hay, grassy citrus finish if juicy grapefruit and earthen hops. Nice stuff.

Bomber from Liquor Loft. Orange-brown pour with a thin off-white head that leaves a ring. Juicy tropical fruit in the aroma - much like their regular ipa. Tastes are pineapple, caramel, sweet honey and earthy orange. Texture was oily medium with very little carbonation. Overly sweet, sticky and flat for my tastes.

A deep orange brew pours out and throws up a tall, creamy off-white head. The aroma is citrus hops, some pine and an underlying juicy malt. Mildly bitter with a great malt balance. Good IIPA.

Bomber thanks to jrob21. Pours a hazy orange with a 1 finger , creamy off white head that has great retention and leaves a few specs of lacing. Aroma is huge floral and citrus hops, a touch of pine, sweet caramel, tropical fruit, light mineral notes, and a touch of peppery, bready yeast. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, toasted grain, light biscuit, floral honey, citrus, sweet mango, and light berry notes. Surprisingly low on bitterness. Palate is medium bodied, between creamy and syrupy on entry and chewy to the finish. Pretty tasty IPA, nice fruity notes, but a little weak in flavor compared to its sweetness.
