COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fresh Dry Hopped Double Red Ale. Looking to drain the main vein on a 420 mile road trip, el Danko casually slipped into the dankest Nugget hop field known to man. Stupefied by the pungent aromas, his eyes rolled back as he fell into a sea of sticky buds. After 4 days of being pinned to the vines, he thought he was a goner. Believing he was hallucinating as every woodland creature, horny toad, and Sasquatch rushed past his stuck self, he suddenly became petrified as he witnessed a million army ants marching his way devouring everything in their path. He said one last Hail Mary as the ants began to chew on him and the vines. With one final gasp, he jerked free and hauled balls out of the field with biting ants and sticky hops covering his pruned body. Desperately in search of ant bite relief he belly flopped in the 1st oasis he saw, which was a fermenter at SweetWater. Fuddied up, el Danko’s teabag plunge turned this brew into a double red from the bleeding ant bites, and dry hopped this bad boy from the fresh Nugget hops that were stuck to his pitiful self.

Bottle left Behind by cbfobes, thanks Brandon. There is a lot going on in the flavors and the aromas. Not my cup of tee.

Bottle left from a tasting, originally brought by cbfobes...thanks Brandon! - Pours dark brown with rosy highlights and a bubbly tan head. Not a crazy hoppy nose, which is what I expected. Pretty understated hops--a bit herbal. Some sharp alcohol notes, some oak, and a decent amount of sweet bready malt. Taste is a bit sharp with grassy hops that build throughout and bite on the finish. Big thick and sweet malt with dark chocolate and cocoa notes, a bit of heat, and a caramel coating. Thin body. Not my favorite.

Bomber courtesy of Craftbeerdesign (thanks Geoff!) poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, tangerine, dankness, pink grapefruit and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, orange zest, earthiness, grapefruit and light pine with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Had one sitting in my fridge for a couple of months. Pulled it out today to share with friends. I found it delicious. Beautiful color, aroma and taste. One of the best beers produced by Sweetwater. I wish it were a year-rounder.

Bottle courtesy of bmanning. Served in a wine glass. Pours a nice amber color with a good, sticky white head and a nice bit of lacing. The nose brings plenty of piney hops, but too much amber malt in the background. Same goes for the flavor, which has too much sweetness. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Pretty good, but not close to Nugget Nectar or other pillars of the style.

Bottle thanks to GRG1313. Pours with a hazed orange hued body with a lasting tan head. Aromas are dank (duh), pine, sticky, resin, caramel, herbaceous and a bit of a chocolate malt tinge. Flavors are of pine, tangerine, orange peel, herbal and tea like. Lively bubbles, dry with a spicy hop presence.

Pours a cloudy dark brown with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus and grassy hops. Flavor is quite sweet with caramel, oranges and pine hops. Very bitter all the way through. Pretty good.

Dark red amber color. Brown solid foam. Smells hoppy of course. Caramel apple on the nose as well. Some maltiness here. Really big loads of fresh hops and malts. Tart fruit. Sweet and bitter. It’s spot on. Good beer.

Bottle thanks to burg326: Poured a brownish color with a light tan head. Aroma is hops. Taste is gritty with loads of hops and malts. Very sticky to the palate.
