COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fresh Dry Hopped Double Red Ale. Looking to drain the main vein on a 420 mile road trip, el Danko casually slipped into the dankest Nugget hop field known to man. Stupefied by the pungent aromas, his eyes rolled back as he fell into a sea of sticky buds. After 4 days of being pinned to the vines, he thought he was a goner. Believing he was hallucinating as every woodland creature, horny toad, and Sasquatch rushed past his stuck self, he suddenly became petrified as he witnessed a million army ants marching his way devouring everything in their path. He said one last Hail Mary as the ants began to chew on him and the vines. With one final gasp, he jerked free and hauled balls out of the field with biting ants and sticky hops covering his pruned body. Desperately in search of ant bite relief he belly flopped in the 1st oasis he saw, which was a fermenter at SweetWater. Fuddied up, el Danko’s teabag plunge turned this brew into a double red from the bleeding ant bites, and dry hopped this bad boy from the fresh Nugget hops that were stuck to his pitiful self.

Bottle. Pours ruby/amber with thick off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and piney hops. Taste of deep caramel malt with good balance of piney hops. Thick mouthfeel. Great lacing. Pretty good. Similar to Arrogant Bastard. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep amber with a soft white head that laces a little. Aroma is earthy, dank, grapefruit and orange hops with a hints of caramel malts and burnt sugar. Flavor is sweet with orange blossom honey, caramel malts and some hops coming in for a slightly bitter finish. Overall it’s a pretty good beer just touch sweet and a bit of a boring palate.

This pours a brilliantly clear, deep dark copper/red/brown/mahogany. Tall, sticky off-white head that takes it’s time settling into the glass below. The aroma has caramel malt and some earthy hops. The flavor follows the aroma, some chlorophyll?

Hazy dark amber, thick beige head. Aroma of dark fruit, pine, earthy dirtiness, wood. Taste is more malty sweet than I was expecting, the hops are earthy, piney, dank, resinous, some tea leaf bitterness. I was expecting more of a balanced hop profile with some lighter floral/tropical notes to round out the insane, over the top resinous flavor. I wondered as I was buying this if I was paying for the story and bottle art, and it looks like I mostly was, because a lot of the Yazoo Hop Projects are better than this IMO. My expectations were very high for this though considering my number one beer was Donkeypunch, it was a resin bomb too, but it had some balance that this beer did not.

bomber, nice roasty malty aroma complemented with some piney hops. Great, flavor is dominated by hops, and the finish goes bitter. Overall, not a bad bru. Doesn’t have cheech and chong any more enjoyable.

Tasted on 12/9/11 from a 650mL bomber bottle purchased for me by my wonderful girlfriend, Jane. Pours a dark but clear mahogany with a thick off-white head that slowly recedes to rocky and uneven lace, leaving thick residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is intense resin, grass, and hay hops, along with equally intense caramel malt and a hint of nutty dustiness. The flavor is fairly sweet with caramel and some bread malt up front, moving to the nicely bitter resin and hay hops, with just a hint of a dusty note. The body is full with a sticky texture, average carbonation, and a long, caramel, bread malt, and bitter resin hops finish.

Pours deep red with thick head. Aroma is citrus and pine hops. Taste is pine hops, citrus fruits, bready malts...good bitterness from the hops. Finish sticks to the tongue. Very nice.

Pours deep reddish brown with a nice off-white head. Aroma is heavy on the citrus and grapefruit notes, with lots of pine resin also. Tastes bitter and resinous with a similar profile as the aroma, but lots of spicy notes and caramel and bready flavors, too. Full-bodied. Nicely balanced with a bitter but not dry finish. Very good.
