We broke the cell wide open thatís been holding this hop hash locked up since the last time a Hooter girl passed the bar. We are walking the line with this Double IPA! Not just another boy named Sue, this renegade would get us thrown into Folsom prison with the amount of Citra "hop hash" we scraped from the inside of the Yakima pelletizers and fisted into this beer. This super concentrated hash is pure hop lupulin (ya know-the hop kief-the good stuff!) and will play a resinous riff with the pilsner, 2 row and wheat malt used to back up the man in black! With Amarillo on the drums setting the bitterness beat, Citra hash takes the mic in the whirlpool, packing a sticky aromatic punch with potent lyrics creating a heavy hop forward set worthy of a July Carter finger dip. For the encore we invited Mt. Hood and Simcoe on stage for a dry hop jam session, bringing down the house in a ring of fire!

Poured a dark golden color with aromas of fresh cut tropical fruit, light malt, and some dankness. Flavors matched the aromas, fresh tropical fruit, light grapefruit skin for bitterness thrown in, very drinkable.

Tasted a draft at Liquor Barn Thursday night pints. Iím not a big fan of Sweetwater beers, but this was quite good. Not much head, but aroma contained piney notes and citrus. It must have a high bitter units rating.

Bottle. Bright, super-clear and golden. Still as night. Think edge-only foam. Pretty hard to pick out a notable aroma ... This drinks with what IMHO is more of a malt base, with just a twist of acidic burn on the end ... kinda like a hoppy malt liquor. (#5564, 6/24/2014)

Draft at Proof. Orange pour with a fluffy white head. Dank, resinous hop character with tropical citrus and some underlying malt sweetness. Sticky, resin hop flavor with a big malty backbone. Smooth carbonation with a lengthy bitter finish. Pretty solid for Sweetwater.

Draft at Coffee District in Delray Beach. Pours a gold with a slight orange hue. Fairly transparent. One finger thick head in a tulip. Nice, powerful citra and other hop aromas. Orange, lemons, mangoes, on the nose with some bread to it as well. The taste was very bold, not overly bitter. Mostly a citra bomb with other hops giving it life. The malts backed it up so it wasnít just an extreme hop beer. Medium body, moderate carbonation. The finish was orange, lemons and slight caramel malts. I really liked this from Sweetwater.
