Thanks Springslicker. A deep amber pour with not much head at all. A fruitiness beyond dried fruit that has na almost tart aroma. A semi sweet flavor that is solid with a very good bitter. Solid palate with good carbonation. A good BW that I think will get better with age. Thanks Jay

@Twains-on tap-pours a thin retaining light tan head and mahogany color. Aroma is sweet/syrupy fruity-medium malt. Taste is sweet/syrupy fruity-medium malt-nutty/roasty, some hops bite.

Poured a clear amber color with an off-white head. Citrusy hop aroma with fruity malt. Notes of peaches. Sweet and thick. The flavor was malty with some fruits and citrusy hops mixed in. Medium bodied.

Beautiful, huge ass bottle from Jimbowood. Shared with Bartzilla. Aroma is pure IIPA deliciousness. Upon pouring this beer into the glass, it definitely takes on a barleywine characteristic. Flavor is hoppy, with a strong, rich malty backbone. A little harsh on the back of the throat, but still, a pretty tasty barley wine

Hey... Naven and jimbowood, much thanks as you guys have given my liver a serious workout. That said, the fine line between a serious double IPA and a barley wine is crossed here. The bottle was beautiful and will serve many a homebrew purpose in the future. The ale itself was what one would expect from a fledgling brwery of such high caliber. Initial taste notes definitely spoke to me in barley wine tongues but the finish was a surprisingly refreshing tartness that beckoned me back for more. I would imagine, that with proper aging technique applied, that this would lose the hop value in favor of the grains over time, but the time to live is now and right now this was some seriously delicious beer. Kirk out.

One-liter foil-clad swing-top bottle. Poured a very deep red/amber with little head (what little bubbles did rise were tan in color). The aroma was interesting - it was very sweet and malty (quite in style for a barley wine), but there was an interesting hoppiness and earthiness as well. The aroma also had a very subtle touch of smokiness. The taste was very sweet and malty, but a strong hop flavor was present. The hops tasted a little grassy, but mostly earthy and flowery - perhaps a touch of pine, too. On the tip of the tongue, the combination was quite complex. By mid-tongue, it was a very palatable blend of sweet and bitter (leaning more towards sweet). The finish was full bodied, but still hoppy. The burps afterward taste just like the beer did: very malty with flowery hops. The mouthfeel was thick, but had sufficient carbonation to not make it feel syrupy. Overall, it was a very nice barley wine. The hops provided just the right balance to prevent the massive malts from being cloying. I would have a hard time believing this beer is 90 IBU considering the strength (10%) and how accented the flavor is towards malt. But the labeling aside, it was very pleasant.

(1L Bottle) Pours a hazy amber body with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of cherry, caramel, and grapefruit. Flavor of citrusy hops, caramel malt, toffee, and light pine with a dry, bitter finish.
