lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Dec 11, 2008 Bottle from miketd. Thanks! Pours a rich caramel color. Smell is citrusy with character of orange and caramel maltiness. Taste is orange citrusy sweetness balanced by citrusy hops. A bit towards the sweet side, but still balanced quite well. Very drinkable for a 10 percent barleywine and the alcohol is hidden almost completely. Medium body and carbonation. Good stuff Wasatch (270), Layton, Utah, USA Oct 25, 2008 750ml Bottle

Poured into my Corsendonk Christmas Ale glass a very nice murky light golden brown color, nice carbonation, very nice one-finger plus creamy off-white head, which leaves some very nice small islands and sticky lacing. The nose is malty/hoppy, nice floral notes, slight spices. The taste is slightly sweet, malty/hoppy, with some spices. Medium body. Very drinkable, MAN! this is an awesome Barleywine, I like it, highly recommended.
TheEpeeist (1427), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 11, 2008 1 liter bottle. Nose is caramel, apple and faint grass. Clear dark amber with an off-white, soft-serve head. Taste is caramel and honeydew with muted hops. Slight drying with mild bitterness. Very smooth and quite tasty. I would certainly visit this one again. tjthresh (1745), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jul 28, 2008 1L bottle. 2007. Pours coppery boarding on brown with a fizzy head and little lace. Very rich aroma of toffee, over ripened fruit, and plenty of hops. The flavor is about the same, but less impressive, you still saticfying. Medium body with average carbonation and a strong bitter finish. Certainly a pleasure to drink. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 15, 2008 2005 bottle, courtesy Chris. Pours bright red, with copper brown highlights, fizzy white head and spotty lacing. Dry roasted malt aroma, sweet caramel, hay, and nice bitter hops in the end. Crisp caramel flavors, smooth malt on the initial bite, brown sugar, and hops in the finish. Very refreshing, surprising considering the ABV and style. Crisp, drinkable. 100th rating for this beer. rallison (113), USA Jul 9, 2008 Very malty aroma with lots of caramel and moderate piny hops. Slight bit of bready notes.
Good size rocky head, off-white with lots of lacing. Slightly hazy. Orange color body.
Strong caramel sweetness in the taste. Moderately hoppy (this beer is about a year old at this point). Very light oxidation. Relatively long finish.
Full bodied - slightly syrupy with medium to low carbonation. Moderately alcoholic on the finish.
Overall, well done. Grew on me - I’d like to try it fresh but have a feeling the beer would taste too green with a rough hop character. Good though. StoutCat (81), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 6, 2008 Golden pour, very hoppy nose. Flavor of hops with a bit of sweetness...more like an IPA to my palate. Still a tasty beer. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 Courtesy of Chris.
Bottle was aged for about 3 years. Color is amber with thin white head. Flavor is dry and sweet. Aroma of caramel malt and light barley.
Could hardly notice the 10% abv.
