Pours a hazy brown with a small head. The aroma has a mild spiciness and dark, dried fruits common in dubbels, but in small measure. Good brown sugar quality in the flavor. Tasty, but a bit reserved for the style. Would be a great entry beer to Belgian styles, however.

Oct 26, 2007 Deep red in color. Light tan head. Maltly for sure. A little chocolat and dark plums or prunes.

Feb 1, 2007 Original release sampled in May 2006: Dark mahogany brown pour has a frothy, nicely-lacing white head. Lightly semi-sweet dark caramel malty aroma has a touch of Belgian yeastiness. Body starts with a sugary sweet maltiness, a touch of dark fruity complexity, but a little thin in body. Perhaps underattenuated and slightly cloying in the dark caramel malty finish. Glad to see Sweetwater trying some new styles, even if this one is a little off.

Nov 2, 2006 Draft. Looks like a dubbel. Dark brown. no head though. Malt flavor is immediate. Slight bitterness, but you’re lokking for it. medium bodied. definite warming effect. That’s it.

Nov 1, 2006 On tap at Taco Mac. Too bad they serve this in such a small glass. Wonderful dark color with a short lived head. Aroma and flavor combine to tantilize (and satisfy) your senses. Finish is short, bitter and warm.
