This is a classic American Porter, poured on tap it has a good head that stays and leaves a nice lace. It is defined by its chocolate malt, medium body, and smooth mouthfeel. Balanced by the Golding and Columbus hops on the finish is a hint of bitterness. Don’t be afraid of the dark.

Mmmm. This beer is a chocolate malty goodness! It pours black and has a robust chocolate/roasty aroma. The label is dead on as it has a medium body with a very light and creamy mouthfeel. There is a nice hop bitterness in the finish which really makes this beer! A flavor explosion that goes down quite easily! Very well done!

Bottle. Roasty vegetal malt aroma, maybe a little nutty. Chestnut with a moderate tan head. Sweet roasty malt - not really chocolate, coffee or caramel - it’s malty, but nondeScript. Light roasty bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle - pours black with a medium cola head (and I was really pouring it recklessly to invoke it a little). Nice black coffee aroma and taste (this was a huge plus considering that I don’t like coffee in general). Medium body and a smooth mouthfeel. I’m looking forward to a few more of these.

On tap at the Terminal A Sweetwater pub where the tap poured out (ice firkin cold in a frozen tumbler) with a deep dark body that has ruby red hues and supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, a bit of burnt malts and a touch of sugary maltiness. The taste is similar with sweet malts, black licorice, dark roasted malts and a bit of burnt malts. I think I’m getting some Mt Hood sort of black spicy licorice going on in there too. Decent robust like porter.

Very malty and coffee flavored porter. Just average in my opinion. The other beers out I this brewery are definitely better ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home in CT. Pours clear, red-brown with a fine, beige cream head. Lots of roasty earth in the aroma, some cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with rich, chocolatey roasted malts, some bitter cocoa, earthy bitterness, mellow ash. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, balanced and fairly rich roasted malts. Great porter. Quite robust with lots of flavor packed in.

Pours a soda color. I said rootbeer, others have described it as Coke. Think tan head fades to half a finger, then sticks around. Laces a little on the glass. It smells fresh. The hops are Centennial and Golding, which describe as floral. I smell a grassy freshness, which is welcomed. The nose is light in contrast to the appearance. Taste is not at all what I expected. I thought it would be a little more bitter. It is very well balanced. Light carbonation has a great, smooth mouthfeel. The subtle bitterness lingers for a bit, but it is not a negative aftertaste at all. Letting a little bit float around my mouth the chocolate becomes more apparent. Just a hint of it, and a hint of coffee type roastedness. All in all a very nice, easy drinking Porter.
