COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a classic American Porter, poured on tap it has a good head that stays and leaves a nice lace. It is defined by its chocolate malt, medium body, and smooth mouthfeel. Balanced by the Golding and Columbus hops on the finish is a hint of bitterness. Don’t be afraid of the dark.

Dark brown color with a large, frothy beige head. The aroma and flavor were both very slight...some nice burnt chocolate, dark fruits, and a sour cherry tone. The feel was too gassy...not smooth at all. I'm not impressed with this one.

My kind of look. Deep mahogany with an ample tan head. Nose was roasted coffee laced with bitter chocolate. A bit too carbonated for a porter in my opinion. Flavor was sweet, chocolaty, coffee. Not bad at all.

12 oz bottle, via TheBeerCellar2. Pours a dark brown with a fizzy 1cm light brown head. No sediment in bottle. Light roasty aroma with some grainy malts and vanilla. Light roasted malt flavor as well, with a slightly bitter and watery finish. Thin and fizzy mouthfeel. Overall they could do with a little more robustness, flavor, and body on this effort. Pretty weak all around.

A coffee brown color with a small tan creamy head. Fresh roasted malt aroma. A nice session beer. Roasted malt taste, thin body, typical American porter.

Black pour small off white tan head.. rich chocolate roasted malt aroma but very light.. pretty avg palate.. flavor of roasted malt chocolate and a lightly bitter finish. Boring porter.

bottle...fairly opaque with a medium off white fluffy head. Mild roasted malt aroma (kinda smells like puke). Some mild roasted malt flavors hardly any hops present to balance the puke out. Some burnt malt bitterness to finish. Nit a bad beer, just one that needs identity.

Bottle: Courtesy of TheBeerCellar2 via trade. Nice combination of chocolate, pine, and light coffe in the aroma. I’m also detecting a faint smell of alcohol. Pours a dark reddish-brown with just the slightest hint of transparency. Small beige head quickly fades to a ring. Moderate roastiness up front doesn’t seem to blend well with light sugary chocolate and fruit. Finishes with some nuttiness and a hint of metal. The flavors just don’t mesh for me.

Bottle Medium reddish-brown with a quickly disappearing tan head. Aroma is a bit faint, but has some chocolate, faint roasted grains, yeasty esters, and earthy notes. The flavor starts out well enough, with some chocolate malt, hop bitterness, and a crisp acidity, then turns sour and tart midway. There’s a bit of roasted grain bitterness on the finish, but it’s otherwise ruled by the overpowering sourness. This could have been a solid porter, but the rough finish screws it up. Thanks to goldtwins for the bottle.
