12oz bottle. Poured a dark ruby, almost cola color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light roast, lots of earthy notes. Light cloves, some peppery notes. Flavor had cloves, spices, some light burnt malt, smoke. Interesting.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with beige head. Spices, cinnamon, roasty, smoke aromas and flavors. Pretty typical spiced winter seasonal. These type of beers aren’t really my thing anymore, although they aren’t bad every once in awhile.

Deep garnet in color, the light chocolate head and lace are quite pronounced. Caramel, hints of chocolate and of course the malts dominate the nose. Front begins malt, medium top, dry, acidic, moderate carbonation and a quite quaffable beer

Darkish, strong. Smoky and fruity notes, some caramel and cookie. Rich and a nice winter warmer. Touches of an earthy and spicy hop, generally earthy spicy character throughout, with a warming cookie malt palate.

Strong bready prune nose, with cinnamon and pecan notes. Clear cola brown, thick tan head with good retention. Charred oak, dry plum flavor. Prune and black cherry make occasional appearances. Creamy medium body. Interesting beer in that it simulates a Belgian strong ale without the apparent use of candi sugar.

Howler draft from Hendersonville on a play date with Myla. Dark brown pour with a small tan head. Roasty aroma with some vegetal notes and spice. Pleasant, malty flavor but no real strong character. Good.

Backlog rating. Bottle at Chriso’s May tasting, London. It pours a clean rich copper color with a medium tan head. Aroma is medium sweet and spicy, with notes of hazelnut, espresso, dried leaves and ripe fruits. Taste is lightly roasty and medium sweet and spicy, with notes of herbs, coffee beans, caramel and fig leaves. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, nice one

Bottle from ABC Clermont. Pours a red-brown with a tan head. Nose is spice, toast, ginger, and slight tobacco. Flavor is similar with toast, tobacco, sweet ginger, spice, and lingering mild earthy bitterness. Light to medium in body and nice overall.
