Poured from a bottle it is a dark brown with a slight head. The aroma is boozey and the taste is spicey like cinnamon and cloves with a taste of bourbon that resonates on the palate

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a dark cola with an ecru head. Nutty aroma. Flavors of allspice and cloves with some smoky nuts. Bitter finish.

Bottle shared by Nick at da Pig in Boca. Pours a deep brown into small snifter. Not much head. Aroma is not overwhelming but spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, anise), chocolate, nuts, and plums. The taste is malty with the cinnamon and anise flavors, chocolate, booze, and dark fruits. Thick mouth, boozy finish, light carbonation. I sometimes struggle liking this style of beer but the mildness of the flavors makes this good.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Dark brown cola-like pour with a thin khaki head. Aroma of light chocolate, sweet malt, and faint cinnamon. Taste is good with the spices being apparent but not overwhelming. Chocolate, cinnamon, and ginger are the primary flavors noted. Not sure exactly how to classify this one but itís a nice beer.

2012 bottle at Good, Bad, Ugly tasting 2014. Malted milk ball aroma, so Iím already out. Flavor is weak, watery, like a flattened bad barleywine.

Iím not the most sophisticated beer drinker so take it for what itís worth. Aroma is quite ordinary for an ale. Good dark brown hue, taste is very neutral given the stated 8.5 abv. You could easily down several of these before you realize they are quite potent. Taste of a dark malt & caramel. Not very memorable but it will get you there. Purchased at Publix in Canton, Georgia.

"This ale pours a deep brown with hunts of roasted malt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Body is a bit thin but not too bad...just doesnít quite support the favors enough. Overall, a decent spiced ale for a nice spring day. Shared at a birthday party- thanks Lou."

Bottle shared at Chrissoís May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Thanks to Chris. Clear mahogany brown / red coloured pour with a halo of losse off white head. Aroma is caramel, liquorice, some musty earthy notes and a touch of soy. Flavour is composed of salted caramel, toffee, touch of subdued christmass spices. Palate is medium sweet. Spices have dropped out a bit.
