12 oz bottle for 2 bucks. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is a little spicy, a little chocolate and a little roasted. Tastes literally like Christmas; cinnamon, chocolate, cookies. Body is a little thicker and creamier. All aromas and flavors are very subdued in this beer, but it still works very well. Dangerously easy to drink for such a high ABV beer. This is no gimmicky winter ale that tries to shove abrasive flavors in your face that donít work together. Itís a smooth, very strong beer that is easy to drink. Highly recommended.

I drank a 2008 version served from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Dark Opaque Hue, Passes No Light, Mild Off White Head Ring, Mild Lacing S: Dark Chocolate, Bourbon T: Milk Chocolate, Mild Smokiness M: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Sweet, Mildly Smokey Overall, aged really well but seemed to have mild out somewhat over the three years. Still not your typical xmas ale with a nice taste.

Best description I have heard is Christmas in a bottle. A chocolate, cinnamon, clove all seem to be present. Excellent beer best when allowed to air in glass and warm slightly.

Dark brown colored pour. Small tan head that quickly hides away. No lacing. A nutty malt aroma with brown sugar. Malty flavor with a bit of the brown sugar up in there. Some notes of raisin. Sweet with a slight chocolate in the finish. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz. red wax top bottle. 2011 vintage. Snifter shows dark brown color with still some white ring of head. Nose is dark malts with nuts and caramel. Flavor has very mild spice, cinnamon and a pepper like note. Flavor is malt forward and work really well in winter. Funny we are drinking this on July 4 th! Mouthfeel is medium with a sweet molasses finish. Decent.

Wax-sealed bomber from 2012. Pour is very porter-like: deep ruby/black with a small, tight brown head. Aroma is malts, molasses, and christmas cookies. Taste is a big punch of sweet malts, and spices that swallow up a mellow hop finish. Thick, hearty mouthfeel well suited to the style. This is a pretty darn good winter brew... even in May! Grab one if you can find it!

Poured a brownish color from the bottle with aromas of toffee, spices, light roast and a touch of cocoa. Flavors follow sjit, winter spices and roast. Not the best beer out there but decent.
