Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Clear deep amber - red beer, decent pale cream cour head. Palate is airy and light, superfine carbonation. Airy malt, very light cream. Mild dark toffee streak. Spice kicks in, not too hot. Touch of dried fruits. Okay.

Extra cheers to Kimchee for sharing this one! Dark burgundy-brown colour. Smokey nose with brown sugar and a slight cherry note. Lightish body is perilous. Smoke, spices, molasses...but silky and balanced. A different breed, but I liked it a lot.

Waxed bomber from mixmasterob. Thanks man! Pours dark brown with a creamy/bubbly beige/tan head. Very spicy aroma. I get the cinnamon. Something else - but I am clueless about mace. Med + body. Flavor is dry, sort of dusty, with cinnamon and I guess mace. It’s a little bit chocolate, mildly roasted malt, and there’s more, but difficult to piece out. The flavor is strong, and there are several aspects. Tho malty it seems to be more dry than not. Not getting a lot of bitter, but guess the spice fills that role. Good winter ale.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured cloudy dark brown color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid spice, cinnamon and malt aroma. Moderate body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy spicy sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid seasonal beer.
