COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It's nice to be able to finally brew some beer without restrictions on it. we came from Colorado where we could brew or try anything. We've been waiting 7 years to make a stout and we harnessed all that frustration into this batch of beer.

We didn't get caught up in the parameters of a specific style we just brewed a big fat hoppy beautiful beer. The timing of the law change couldn't have been better for us, because it has taken until this summer for us to get set up in our new brewery. We finally have some capacity to experiment with some new style. This could lead into a seasonal offering from us in the future. For now we're just glad we can satisfy the demands of the folks who have been on us since day 1 to make a stout.

Malt: 70/80 crystal malt, chocolate malt, black malt, roasted malt

Hops: Centennial, Willamette and cascade - on the dry hop!

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2014 12 oz bottle for 2 bucks. Pours black as night with a brown head. Looks great. Aroma is slightly chocolatey, very sweet with a piney hop aroma as well. Taste is burnt chocolate, slightly fruity with little other flavor. No bitterness or anything. Body is just average and a little thin for an imperial stout. Average carbonation. Overall this is a decent and easy to drink Imperial Stout. It’s definitely different from most beers in the style. I like it but it lacks a very robust flavor.

Bottle best by 2013 (thanks Brews for New Avenues). 12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma is oxidized, with toasted malt and light cocoa. Flavour is oxidized, with cocoa and light roast. Would’ve loved to see what this was like fresh. As is, not good.

Bottle share. This exceeded what I was expecting. Pours a very thick and dark brown/black with a nice sudsy tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast coffee, and burnt malts. Flavor was bold roasted coffee, chocolate, and some burnt malts and light smoke, some leather, and hints of dark fruits. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, a bitter bite on the end.

Pours black with moca head, thick body. French roast coffee aroma, coca, burnt malts. Taste is coffee and dark chocolate. Alcohol hidden. A bit rough but that’s what I loved about it.

Pours an opaque dark brown almost black color with khaki colored head. Roasted malt, raw cocoa powder, and some light toast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied, and a little rough around the edges. Finishes with more raw cocoa powder and roast.

Taste is of citrusy hop oils, licorice, tar/tobacco, roasted and chocolatey malts .... Has a big bitter dry hop bite ... Finish has a big lingering citrusy dry hop to it and roasted chocolate .... Mouthfeel is very oily and slick ... Very black IPA-ish ... Good stuff
