| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 28, 2007 I had this "Randallized" (over Tettnang hops and orange peel) so that would have affected the flavor, but I am sure I can still write an accurate review.
Color is a lovely cloudy gold-amber, like pale honey. Head is thick and persistent. The strong, malty aroma is very pleasant and has citrus overtones - but this may have come from the orange peel. Flavor is a little thin, but is refreshing and smooth, pleasant and malty, with very little bitterness; the orange peel gave it a nice orange overtone. It will only be availible this summer at select bars in the atlanta area and at most package stores that carry most of sweetwater’s brews. This beer is definatly a keeper, a good "porch beer". Intense crisp cirus flavor thoughout. Go’s down sooooo easy. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 12, 2005 Exceedingly fresh aroma, albeit mild - with lemon and orange. Looks like a standard wit, only slightly darker and hazier. Head disappears almost immediately, leaving a thin ring that laces its way down the shaker. The first sip really surprised me - very round (and full) flavor. This isn’t like Hoegaarden and others that are sharp and acidic - but rather mellow and full. The downside is that it is less refreshing as a summer beer (less tang). She finishes smooth and buttery, like a lemon Halls cough drop. Not precicely to style - but better than most in the style. Very nice aroma of banana, corriander, light orange peel, and pepper. Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with a nice white head that lasts a minute or so. Orange is the first flavor to hit and is just the slightest bit acidic and tart. Banana and yeast follow shortly and really lend a nice sweet balance to the flavor. Finishes wheaty with some corriander, pepper, and some flowery bitterness. Definitely one fo the better witbiers I’ve had. This is great during the winter. I can only imagine how great a summer time brew this would be.
