3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kbutler1 (1078) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 22, 2010
Bottle. Cloudy orange color with a slight white head. Aroma is more malty than hoppy. A very pedestrian everyday IPA in my opinion. Not super hoppy but hoppy enough to know you are drinking an IPA. Medium mouthfeel. Citurs hop notes. We don’t get Sweetwater here in MN but if I’m down south I’ll be sure to try this on tap to see if it is any better that way.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2012 August 2010: Golden color with a healthy off-white head and a lovely hop aroma that leads you to believe this beer is light-bodied. Not far from the truth. Flavor is light and smooth but lower on IBUs than you’d guess from the intensity of hops in the aroma. Thin, delectably light and sweet and bitter with a little tongue-numbing in the finish.
December 2011: Has a really nice orange-amber color (at least that’s what it looks like in a dark pub) with an off-white head. It’s a really nice IPA that’s very floral, slightly piney, a little earthy, and pretty complex. Has some good weight with a really nice crystal malt backbone, very well-decorated with a great bouquet of hops. A gorgeous IPA, really, incredibly good and very respectable. It ends clean, hoppy and not too bitter. Overall, I’d say a fantastic IPA.

Bottle thanks to Andy (BA)! Transparent copper, rocky beige head. Nose of orange and grapefruit, manure, and light copper. The flavor shows only faint wisps of the manure note, mint, and heavy orange sweetness, no bitterness until the end. A bit of burnt bread completes the dusty finish that contrasts the sweeter flavor. Very fresh profile, lots of fruit sweetness, but there is only faint bitterness and a slight lack of balance at each stage.

First bottle from six-pack poured amber with little lasting head. Aroma and taste full of floral and citrus elements. I am enjoying this beer immensely, as I am an IPA lover, and look forward to the rest of the six-pack.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 dpjuart (889) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 27, 2010
Pours orange/amber with yellow hues, 1/2 inch white head dissipating to a filmy, white cloud. Lemon and grapefruit nose with a touch of grass. Sweet caramel and biscuit with a moderate bitter and lots of bright citrus, lemon, grapefruit, some mild cherry and a weird amount of sweetness. Not bad overall.

12 oz. bottle as a trade bonus from drowland- thanks again, Danny! Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a small off-white head that laces the glass. Aroma of orange citrus, pineapple, floral hops, caramel malts, and an astringent note. Flavor of orange peel, floral hops, caramel malts, tea leaves, and a mineral note. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, astringent finish.

A damn fine beer, I would drink it until my liver gave way. Nothing offensive at all, just beer bliss. Would get again fo sho. Very dry body, it says columbus and EKG for the hops but it tastes and smells much mroe of simcoe. very cat pissy smell which is quite nice, hints of grapefruit, slight sugary sweetness, easily my favorite IPA brewed east of the mississippi.
