3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gregis (1250) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - JAN 25, 2008
Bottle courtesy of goldtwins. Pours a hazy peach with an explosion of loose, frothy, ecru head that leaves behind sticky, wispy lace. Even pouring down the side of the glass results in a glass filled with 10% liquid and 90% head. The last time that this happened to me was with Founders Black Rye, and I was not disappointed by what I experienced after waiting patiently for the head to subside. The nose is a big hit of citric hops (fresh grapefruit and blood orange) with a solid, pale malt backing. Medium-bodied and creamy-slick, with a big, lingering, bitter finish. The flavor follows the nose, but isn’t quite as bright and fresh. There’s also a bit of an herbal note to the hops that isn’t present on the nose. This is a very solid IPA and one that I’d be likely to buy again if given the opportunity. If you like big citric hops, this is one definitely worth trying. Thanks again, Larry!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kumite56 (465) - Cordova, Tennessee, USA - JAN 11, 2008
This beer poors a slightly hazy orange color with a rapidly diminishing white head. Aroma is very nice, sweet, tons of floral hops and plesant. Flavor is intensely hoppy, a little weak in the malt backbone but all in all a nicely balanced and drinkable ipa
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 tronraner (2430) - Walland, Tennessee, USA - JAN 9, 2008
12 oz bottle. Pours hazy copper with big ivory head and a few floaties. The aroma is lots of fruity hops, with notes of apricot, pineapple, very light grapefruit; there’s also a touch of sweet malt. The flavor is semi-sweet malt, which combines with the slight fruitiness of the hops very well. The beer isn’t all that bitter, but has plenty of hop flavor. There are some floral tones, and it gets a bit earthy toward the finish. This is very good.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 RollinHard (951) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - JAN 8, 2008
Thanks to shp555 for this. Pours a hazy orange with a long lasting white head. Aroma of orange and lemon, some light pine, and some faint brown sugar, maybe a trace of white chocolate. Big tart lemony hop flavor, with some bitter grapefruit tingling the throat and breadcrust coated in brown sugar for the malt. Definitely tangy. Finishes with a nice grapefruit bitterness, with a roasted almond fade. Medium, just shy of light bodied, and a good creamy mouthfeel. A little on the tangy citrus side for me, but still not bad.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hellbilly (2857) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JAN 6, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2008 bottle courtesy of ucusty...thanks! pours a hazy brown shade of copper topped with a fluffy off white head. giant aroma of grapefruit even before my nose hits the glass...hints of pine and brown sugar but mostly grapefruit skins and flesh. the palate is a bit on the sweet side but not overwhelmingly so...more grapefruit and caramel flavors with some hoppy spiciness and yeasty dryness. really simple straight forward beer...nothing flashy or complex. if i lived in GA this would be my go to brew especially fresh from the taps!3.7
second fresh bottle from ucusty. this time around there’s an odd vegetal note in the flavor. i’m also picking up malt powder and ashiness... more malt than hops in this one...3.6
bottle from tbs/tbc...rating stands. caramel sugary hops with a bunch of grapefruit in the aftertaste. solid...

went through a 6 pack over the holidays in Atlanta .... I lived there for 3 years and can’t remember why I never tried the IPA....nice golden pear/orange color with a medium head...lots of sticky lacing on the glass...aroma of citrus and pine resin.... great hop bite with a nice solid mouthfeel....good balance of bitter and sweet.... this is available all around the ATL....found my go to beer in Atlanta
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wilkie (1209) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - DEC 31, 2007
Bottle. Pours copper, light haze, small white head, with nice lacing. Aroma is hoppy, pine, citrus, but the pine is so strong that it almost smells like cat piss. Flavor is very hoppy, but one-dimensional, sweet caramel maltiness, grassy aftertaste.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 franksnbeans (265) - Columbus, Maryland, USA - DEC 23, 2007
Pours a hazed apricot with a finger of lively white head that dies rather quick and laces nice random sheets. Awesome smell. Floral, piney, juicy hops with grapefruit. Taste is a delight. Big hops, rind, grapefruit but backed by some malt that finally gives way to the hops at the end for nice bitter finish. Light in the mouth with the perfect amount of carbonation. Drinkability...lets just say if I lived in the ATL, this would be my drank all day, every day. Give this one a shot and be rewarded..
