3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle received in a trade with Jimbowood. Thanks Jimbo! -- Pours a slightly hazy strong golden color with an off white head that diminishes to a thin crown. Decent lacing. The aroma is citrus and floral hops with a hint of sweet malt. The flavor is refreshingly sweet with a citrus burst to it. The hoppy bitterness starts slowly, increasing to the finish. The sweet malts are present to balance everything out. Medium mouthfeel and smooth going down. I wish this one were available in my area.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great IPA. Almost too hoppy at first, but you get used to it. Comparable to dogfish head. ignore the ugly label and drink up! Tastes like home.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2007 Pours a dramatically opaque orange with chunks of yeast stirred up in the brew. Catty hops on the nose and tongue, little malt sweetness to balance them out. Seriously, tone it down a little. Citrus hops dominate every step of this beer. I like hops as much as the next imbiber, but really, balance is nice too.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2007 Pours orange with white head. Aroma is of sweet hops and some citrus. Mouth is somewhat thin with a decent amount of carbonation. Very refreshing. Flavor is full of malt, hops, spice and finishes sweet. A very good IPA.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2014 Bottle. (trade with Papsoe) Clear, golden-copper color with a beige head. Pine, hops and tropical fruits in the aroma. The flavor is quite bitter and fruity, with pine and tropical fruits, the latter dominating the fruit-part. Full body. Very piney finish with a distinct bitterness. I find it a bit on the hoppy side, but it is a nice beer. Rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7. 070608
On tap at the Atlanta airport taphouse, terminal A. Looking cute in the glass, even though there’s not much head, just a thin layer of off-white bubbles. Some lacings. It’s deep golden in color, and clear. The aroma is peachy and citrusy, sure nice, but lacking some of the freshness found in the Lowryder IPA. Still not much malts to be detected. The flavor has a nice bitterness, with citrus peel and resins, and a little malty sweetness as a backdrop. Full body and a soft carbonation. Bitter, resiny finish. I could easily drink more of this, but it’s far from the most exciting IPA I’ve had. 140511

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks aracauna. Copper pour, small white head. Aroma of pine and malts. Flavor is caramel malts mostly, pine hops, with citrus hops in the background and some grapefruit. Easy drinking IPA but nothing special and could use more hops in the aroma and flavor additions.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours out a hazy copper color with big white head. Great big aroma of hops, pine and grapefruit. Taste has some of the citrus, but very smooth, not overpowering at all. This beer is one of the absolute joys of going to Georgia. Sweetwater has many great beers, but if you want to try one to get you hooked, this is the one.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2007 $1.79 single at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
The Fourth of July. The one day in July you absolutely have to go out and let loose in an uncontained expression of American freedom, fun, and perhaps even a little licentiousness.
Appearance: Pours a hazy amber-colored body with a small, white head.
Smell: The aroma is showing of juicy, ripe grapefruits, with only a trace amount of dough in the background.
Taste: Faint toasty caramel malt sweetness before the grapefruit plunge and piney hop character that creeps into the long finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: Definitely one of Sweetwater’s better beers!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAY 6, 2011 big hoppy, wonderful IPA out of ATL... definitely the best year round beer from Sweetwater. you can smell the hops right after you open the bottle... big citrus & floral hop nose... beautiful unfiltered deep orange pour with a 1 finger white head - which falls rather quickly. medium body with lots of bitterness from front to back. citrus hop notes dominate the mouth. some other light fruit lingers including some white grapes and light banana. big bitter finish that lingers in the back of the throat... love this IPA!!! my local favorite and go to craftbeer.
