tbookman (618), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 30, 2007 Medium amber color - thin head. Aroma is hoppy - notes of pine, grapefruit and a hint of orange. Smooth body, flavor is moderatley hoppy, sort of tingly on the palate. Also adds a note of sugray sweetness that doesn’t fully blend well with the hops. Not bad, but not great.
WeeHeavySD (1564), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 11, 2008 12oz via GAManiac. Thanks, Pours orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is sweet and light, could use a bit of warming probably. Taste is sweet, with a mild hop flavor. This is decent, but lacks the oomph I like in ipas, that said its also drinkable. Swalden_28 (516), McKinney, Texas, USA Jul 8, 2008 Bottle, thanks to ericandersnavy. Has a very nice amber color with beige head. Aroma is just hoppy, very nice. Flavor is semi-sweet with a nice hop bitterness. Has a light to medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Overall, a very good drinkable IPA.
Butters (278), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 5, 2008 On draft at the Sweetwater Taphouse in the Atlanta International Airport. Amber pour with thin light-tan head. The aroma reminds me of Troegs nugget nectar, with a slight ’old foot cheese’ quality. Pleasant pine hop flavor was enjoyable. A bit cloying on the palate. ericandersnavy (86), denton, Texas, USA Jul 5, 2008 bottle thanks to GAManiac. poured a clear amber with beige head and good retention with lacing. aroma was fruity, hoppy, and grassy. flavor had good use of hops and a nice grapefruit. i really liked this one. i am liking IPA’s more and more. nathan30533 (21), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA Jul 2, 2008 Greal looking IPA, bronze with a white head. The Appearance is everthing you would like to see in a IPA... Taste....uhh. I don’t always know with the sweetwater. Atlanta water might be poisoning the great taste. Overall good IPA but not my fave and Im an IPA drinker.
