A flame throwin’ Rye IPA ignited by a 25% shot of rye malt and capped by a booty hoppin’ blast of Mt Hood and Centennial hops that makes this IPA bounce!

Murky orange-brown beer with a creamy head. Hoppy scent with hints of pine. Initial flavor is bitter without being overly so, which then develops with a pleasant sour complement, and finishes with slight citrus. A good IPA that does not overwhelm with hops.

Pour is clearish orange with small white head. Aroma is oily citrus hops and light cereal malt. Taste is lightly malty at first quickly ramping to more and more hoppy and finishing with a nice rye bite. Nice level of carbonation and weight on the palate, slight alcohol bite. Overall very drinkable, enjoyable, and probably my favorite sweetwater.

Bottle pours a hazy orange/amber sweet light malt and honey aroma. Nice hoppy flavors with out much IBU bitterness. The Rye adds some too though.

Clear golden color with a thin white lacing of head. Aroma is light, some slight citrus, but not overly aromatic. Flavor is very clean, some light hops up front. Rye is very strong in the finish, makes it incredibly dry. Some citrus notes throughout, perhaps a touch of grapefruit from the hops. Overall, solid beer from them, it’s actually quite nice in the summer.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark golden color with a moderate white head. Great hoppy nose to it that foreshadows bitterness. Taste is not as bitter as the nose would suggest, but with a good bit of rye flavor and a clean finish. Not bad.

Ar: Fresh grapefruit rind, some orange pith, and some toasty malt. Ap: Orange, slightly hazy - small off-white head with moderate retention, leaving a ring of foam and some sudsy lacing. T: Smooth and juicy citrus up front, mixes with some spicy malt - medium-sweet - bitterness is earthy and citrusy, medium-high, and builds up - finish is citrus and a hint of light caramel. P: Medium body, oily and smooth - medium-high carbonation - finish is dry. O: Tasty rye IPA - the rye adds some great spicy notes and really seems to come through in the mouthfeel - citrus hops are nice and fresh and round out the beer nicely.

12oz bottle. Best by 12/20/12, enjoyed 12/26/12. Lightly toasty rye malt nose. Mildly hazy yellow orange color. Thin white head, good lace. Spicy rye grain hop flavor. Nice citrusy grapefruit hop note in there. Citrus peel. Medium body. Crisp lighter carbonation. Dry finish.

Bright ryed IPA nose with a thin, Yellow orange look and thin head and lacing. Really nice flavoring, not deep and complex but bright and fresh. Mouth feel is light but fits with the rest of the brew and after taste is nice. Overall, I love all that is sweetwater, they can do no wrong in my eyes!

The rye spice is a little faint on this one but the c hops are a little more out front. I’ll take the c hops every day. Pours murky orange with a white head. Aroma is tangerine and sweet orange. Flavor does have a touch of spice on the finish with some grain and caramel malt mid palate. This drink works its way from the nose to the front of the tongue and back through the back of your throat in a deliberate and tasty fashion.

Bottle. Clear light amber with a faint head. Slight hoppy aroma with a bit of grass. Clean taste with a hint of spice and rye; slight bitterness. Smooth overall with only a faint bitter aftertaste. Smoother and less powerful than other ryes I’ve tried. A bit unexpected as I’m used to ryes being more forceful, but the more restrained character is nice.
