COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Road trips are balls-out adventures loaded with unexpected twists, just like when this beer hit black ice and got spun!. It started out as an IPA recipe, but halfway down the road it blew a tire and a Pilsner yeast was pitched as a spare; an IPP yo! The fiery Pilsner backbone adds a nitrous-like boost to the van load of hops that would make any German pucker up when those hop afterburners singe their lederhosen!

Brewed with a Lager yeast at Ale temps using Sterling hops and Pilsner Malt to make this a crisp and hoppy twisted up seasonal treat.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2009 bottle. this could definitely be a solid craft lawnmower beer.... very drinkable, full of flavor and hops for a blond ale. pours a very light golden color with average white head. nice lingering hops and sweet malts on the nose. medium body with a good hop profile and well balanced. for a very flavor-able light session beer - this one hits the spot.

Yellow, big white head. Very subtle aroma - and by "subtle", I mean "almost non-existent". Big crisp toasty malt flavors up front. Crisp, dryish hop finish. Sampled at Asheville Brewgrass 2007. Oh, and I almost forgot - # 1900 for me! WooHoo!

Hazy yellow color with nice citrus hop aroma. The taste was mainly refreashing grapefruit.

Thanks to CaptainCougar for the bottle. Slightly hazy straw color with a small head. Aroma is grassy and floral hops with sweet malt that borders on honey. Also some lemon. Taste is fruity/lemony with a bitter end thats really quite good. A great hot weather beer.

Bottle from goldtwins - thanks! Pours a soft yellow with a modest white head and light lacing. Nose is mild of hops and maltiness. Taste is more hoppy (citrus) than expected for this style. A little grassey and malty, but a nice session ale nonethless.

12oz bottle. A Cream Ale with Pilsner malts and hops?? Light yellow in color. Grassy hops and malts. Light ale body. Odd and hopefully forgettable.

Thanks Badgerben for sharing. Grainy nose with hints of hops. Nondescript grainy body with a little bit of hops.

8/12/2007: Sweetwater Road Trip is golden yellow in color and slightly hazy. The small, foamy white head doesn’t last very long. The aroma is doughy yet slightly sweet with some fruit as well as hints of grass and spice. The flavor contains pale, bready malt and is modestly sweet with some fruitiness to it. It has a spicy and grassy bitterness in the finish like a Pils. The bitterness actually begin to bite just before the finish and then sticks, inviting another drink. This beer has a clean finish and is light, with a smooth mild level of carbonation. Overall it is zesty and refreshing. Quite interesting and lively.

12 fl. oz. bottle (Best if enjoyed by 09/17/07) slipped into my cooler by decaturstevo at the August Cincinnati RateBeer Gathering. Thanks Stevo! I’m glad you could make it up here and I appreciate the thoughtfulness. Rating #47 for this beer...
