Road trips are carefree adventures that usually take unexpected twists, like when we created this beer. It started out as a Pilsner recipe, but halfway through it blew a tire and Ale yeast was put on as the spare. The result was so good, it never could have been planned!

12 oz. bottle from Harris Teeter Carrboro, best by July 22. Ar: Aroma is grassy, bread dough, and a bit of fruitiness. Ap: Pours a crystal clear light copper/gold with a small frothy head that leaves nice lace. T: Slightly sweet malty flavor up front, finish is nicely bittered with grass and lemony notes. P: Medium-thin body, medium carbonation. O: Gotta go against the grain a bit on this one. This is a nice spring/summer beer.

Light lager aroma with some earthy hops. Pours a slightly hazy light straw with a thin white head. Earthy and spicy hop notes are the predominant flavor, with a touch of sweetness and a lingering bitter finish. Very light bodied and easy drinking. A very nice, light drinking spring beer.

Sweetwater Road Trip has a thick, frothy, white head, a semi-hazy, yellow-gold appearance, powdery sediment, and heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is of sharp, sweet, white bread, some lemon, and pungent yeast. Taste is of sweet, bitter, lemony, sourdough bread. The bitterness, in fact, is quite pronounced. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Sweetwater Road Trip finishes crisp and refreshing. RJT

I dig. I haven't had many ipps so I'm not sure how to rate. Drink by yourself across the street from people you know. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a really nice blond ale, might even be willing to call it a koelsch or something but probably too hoppy for that. Itís cloudy orange yellow w/ a fine-bubbled white head and all kinds of lacing. This stuff has some bready malt character but it is all about the floral (noble?) hops. The nose is somewhat mild but when you taste it, it is simply bursting w/ mellow hop flavor. Itís medium to full bodied and just a touch sweet, which helps those hops to pop. It finishes w/ a firm, floral bitterness in the finish. This is a really good beer and Iím happy to have it in my area now.

Appearance: pours with a small white head that fades quickly, the beer is a hazy yellow color Aroma: very lightly toasted grain, corn, faint Taste: corn syrup, faint hops in there, lemon Palate: lively carbonation, light mouthfeel, corn and hop aftertaste Overall: this just reminds me of industrial lager too much, not my choice but still better than a real industrial lager ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Clear gold in color with a thick white head. Aroma of crisp noble hop and some malt. Malty sweetness up front, giving way to a bitter noble finish. Nice hoppy pils that you can drink all day.

Hazy yellow, minimally effervescent. Decent lace laying. Bitter with a sharp tart bite. Some sweetness comes through the bitterness and finishes watery. Best by date: 6/8/15 Consumed on 3/30/15. $1.79/12 oz bottle at Total Wine and More Boca Raton Florida.
