3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at the source. Cloudy light brown color, scant edge head. Aroma of chocolate covered caramel bon bons. Taste is slightly boozy butterscotch. Decent.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Merrifield location; poured a ruddy brown with not much off white head. Aroma of sugar, fruit and caramel. Flavor was a decent malt blend; caramel, fruit and sugary bread; sweet. Drinkable, but nothing really new for the style; and not great as well.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
It looks just like a dubbel should. A light coppry brown color with a small offwhite head. Sweet aroma and flavor. Had some very belgian wit like qualities of corriander and clove and some peppery spiced flavor.

I enjoyed this brew the most out of the sampler, so I ordered a pint of it after I finished tasting their wares. I liked it. it was entirely drinkable. One of the more drinkable dubbels that I have had. There is a light sweetness that I appreciate a great deal. It is a balanced enjoyable beer.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
This beer (one of five in a sampler pack ordered at the restaurant in Falls Church, VA) seemed to represent the best chance for success from this mediocre brewpub. Nonetheless, my hopes were dashed when this "authentic Belgian Ale" (according to the server) arrived at the table. Served in what looked to be a modified champaign flute, this beer had no head, lager-like color and no aroma (but that was common with all beers at this place). Taste was bland at best and very watered-down to tame at worst. Did not get this one again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Murky brown with red edges. Dense creamyt tan head with nice glass lacing, which might just be from the not so clean glass that this beer was served into. Lightly fruity aroma, plums, raisins, and some dusty yeast. The flavor is quite nice, good balance of sweetness and the yeastiness. Dark fruit throughout. Not overly sweet. Medium body, lightly acidic. Server much, much too cold. It really needs to warma good bit before it is truly appreciated for what it is, a really nice dubbel.

Very murky red-brown with a creamy mocha head. Nose sugary, some raisin, caramel, and chocolate. Good malty flavor, light cocoa and toffee, some nice fruitiness. Tasty candy sugars as well, very sweet. Quite good.
