Draft at Sweetwater-Merrifield. From memory. Pours a deep brown with tan head. Coffee dominates, with some chocolate and oats. Nice stout, if predictable.

Draft at Sweetwater. The nose is pure coffee, and just amazing. I'm not sure if it makes me want to drink a cup of world class joe or a beer, but it's inviting. It's not particularly dark for a stout with a big head that quickly faded to trace bubbles floating on top. As expected, its taste profile is coffee forward, and there's just enough rich, chocolate malt body to keep it balanced. Somewhat fizzy mouthfeel for a stout.

Drake (8563) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - AUG 6, 2011
Served on draft at the Sterling location on 4/30/11. Pours a dark brown color with a thin head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts and rich coffee notes. The taste is coffee, roasted malts, faintly sweet notes and an ashy/coffee ground finish. Thin-medium bodied. Almost a good beer.

on tap, black pour with off white foam, poured too cold this rounds into a decent beer after some time, coffee and a little smoke comes out, finish is thin still

This beer reminds me of coffee iced cream. It goes down pretty easy with strong coffee flavor and Noyes of chocolate. Slightly cream with a bitter roast finish. I enjoyed it and Iím not a big fan of coffee beers.

Mill chocolate nose, decent roast, some coffee. Taste is nicely dry, some bitter and milk chocolates, watery coffee and some dusty yeast. Nice session.

Draft at Merrifield, VA location. Black/very dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma was coffee, roasted and toasted malts. Flavor was roasted malts, bitter coffee, touch of dark chocolate. Every refreshing and enjoyable.

On tap at the brewpub. Black with a very fizzy cola colored head. If I had to guess, I would have thought that it was a glass of cola because of its high carbonation. Very rich coffee & cocoa aroma with a similar flavor. Overall, this is really nice. A good solid offering from Sweetwater.

scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 22, 2009
Draft - Merrifield. Black, tan creamy head. Mild roast coffee and vanilla cream nose rests on underlying milk chocolate oat tones. Roasty iced coffee flavors balance on light bitter chocolate notes from start to finish. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Nice, but a touch more heft might have done it wonders...

unlike other coffee stouts iíve had, the flavor of coffee is not overpowering. the aroma is hard to pick up. head disappears quickly.
