From an aging growler coutesy of Maniac. Very dark almost opaque with little head. Roasty malt aroma with some fruity yeast notes. Sweet roast and chocolate malts and rum soaked fruit flavors with a touch of woodiness. Chocolate and coffee in the finish with a bit of grain astringency.

growler@Vero Beach Throwdown-pours a tan head that dissipates to a ring of bubbles and black color. Aroma is dark malt-licorice/chocolate, some acidic. Taste is dark malt-licorice/chocolate, some acidic-hops/alcohol bite. Thanks hopscotch for sharing.

Once again, thanks to maniac for supplying me. Growler. Pours like used motor oil. Very full bodied. Lots of dark chocolate and alcohol present. Didn’t care for it personally.

From a growler shared by maniac. Thanks! Thickly coating yellow-black color. Looks rather medicinal, but I like it anyway. Smoky wood aroma with a little bit of offputting plastic. Astringent taste with fruity peach and grape notes. Lighter mouthfeel and almost feels like a wine to me. Dangerously drinkable.

Growler courtesy of kmweaver. Pours brown with a rich, creamy tan head. Smells fruity with some elements of spice, chocolate, hints of vanilla. Tastes of dark chocolate, some bitter hints, some warming alcohol, lots of spiciness, elements of dark fruit. The alcohol interferes a bit with the beer on the finish. Decent.

Black with dark brown at edges, very good head. Aroma is a touch alcoholic with chocolate and dark fruit. Rich chocolate and dark fruit flavor. Alcohol still there, giving it a slightly rummy flavor due to presence of some molasses. Good stuff. Thanks to maniac for bringing this back.

On tap at Sweetwater Tavern - Sterling. Dark black body with a large frothy brown head that persists. Chocolate roast and caramel aroma. Sweet molassas flavor with rum soaked fruit, roast and caramel and a firm bitter ending. Full body with moderately low carbonation and a thick almost syrupy finish.
