Draft. Deep amber color and served with a thick off-white head. Citrusy hops, resiny notes, thickening malt, dough. Full enough finish with more dough and caramel lingering. A touch sweet, could have more bitterness but not bad. My favorite of the beers sampled here which isnít surprisng since I enjoy the style.

Golden colored IPA fruit but confused and comes across as unbalanced resin beer lacking malt backbone.

Tap. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy white head, diminishing with no lacing. Aroma is caramel and bread malt with citrus, floral, and pine hops; light fruit notes. Flavor is malt with hop focus, medium bitterness and lightly fruity. Medium bodied, dry texture, medium carbonation.

On tap 6 oz. sampler at Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville, VA. Clear, medium amber with an off-white head and very modest lacing. Aroma of mild pine, caramel, and citric hops. Taste of orange, floral hops and mild caramel. Medium/light body and medium/low carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Merrifield: Transparent orange amber with stringy-lacing off-white head. Semi-sweet caramely malty nose has some resiny grapefruity notes. Starts with good fullness and sweet caramel and toasty pale malts with a decent bittering and flavoring hop balance before a crisp, bittersweet finish. A pretty decent IPA.

Tap. Pours a clear light copper body with a small wispy white head. Minimal hops on the nose, just some light perfumy and floral notes. This is definately in the English style, some biscuity malt, light floral hops, and some lingering husky malt. Fairly short finish with minimal bitterness. Medium bodied with a nice soft texture and moderate fizzy carbonation. Pretty well yer average English Style IPA.

Draft at Merrifield location. Pours a coper color with a medium white head. Aroma of light hops, citrus, caramel, malts. Not very hoppy. Flavor is citrus, medium hops, malt, toffee. Not awful, but certainly would not impress an extreme hop head as it appears to be more in keeping with itís European counterparts as opposed to "American IPA"

Draft in Centreville. Hazy amber color, large thick cream colored head. Aroma of pine > grass > flowers. Taste is malty biscuit with good balance. Nice.

Tap. Poured with a golder-copper color and an off-white head. Fruits, caramel, burnt wood, some pine, grapefruit in the aroma. Medium dense with high carbonation. Brown sugary sweet taste with bitter aftertaste. Good.

Serving: Draft. Appearance: Pours a nice amber orange color with a foamy, off-white head. Excellent head retention and it left sheets of lacing all the way down the glass. Aroma: Aggressive pine hop nose with a bit of grapefruit and herbal notes. Flavor: Flavor! Sweet flavor! I canít tell you how nice it is to finally have one of their beers that actually has a flavor profile! Anyway, I digress. Some pine resin, a good bit of hop citrus, some earthy hops, honey, and a floral sweetness. Pretty good! Palate: Medium-low carbonation with a medium body and a long, bitter finish. Overall: The best one that they had on tap in the Sterling location yesterday and really the only one worth drinking. Recommended.
