This style always takes a pounding, but Sweetwater’s verison is actually pretty good. Sampled on draught at the Merrifield location. Strong in all aspects, with pale malts, spicy hops and a clean finish. If you’re drinking quantity and also looking for quality, give this a try as a fill in for brand x lager.

On tap in Falls Church. Nice crisp hop aroma, beany with some honey and pilsner malt. Pale golden straw clear with thin white head. Light body with medium carbonation. Starts smooth and clean with light pilsner malt sweetness and beany hops. Grain notes with light bitter finish. Clean smooth after. Nice for a light lager. Does have a strong hint of mash to it.

Tap. Pours a clear pale yellow with lots of visible carbonation. Small wispy white head. The nose is light crackery malt and a little corn, but pretty clean smelling. Minimal flavor, just light corn and some lightly husky bready malt, minimal to no hops present. Light bodied and fizzy with a nice crisp finish. Pretty bland overall, but it’s much better than the average brewpub light beer.

Pale yellow with creamy white head and lace. Aroma of light malt and paper. Light sour malt, light paper, and a light bitter finish. Thin and watery with good carbonation.

For a low carb beer this good. Very crisp and fresh, sure those are acro advertising slogans. But there was some hop and wheat flavors and aromas.

best light beer i have had. extremely light color with unexpected flavor. somewhat hoppy. more hop flavor than the aroma leads on.

Draft sample at Falls Church location. Pours clear gold with small white head. Corn and malt nose. Clean with carbonic tang, corn, malt and crisp hop finish . Not bad for what it is.

Draft at Sterling. Clear gold, with faint remnance of a white head. Aroma was not much. Body was thinnish, a little watery; but some good flavor for the style, with actually some hop presence. Definitely good for a light beer.

Pours incredibly pale yellow. Practically discolored water. Some straw maltiness, a little bit of noble hop character. Not bad for what it is.

Tap. Pours clear pale yellow with a small, white, fizzy head, diminishing with no lacing. Aroma is sweet malt (hay, straw, meal) with sweet corn and light fruits, no hops. Flavor is malty, lightly sweet, low bitterness, clean, sweet corn notes. Light bodied, dry and spicy palate, medium carbonation.
