Draft at Sweetwater. Rich burgundy color with a thick, creamy off-white head. The nose is a blend of brown sugar, toffee, and what I often end up describing as "lager." Malty caramel base, a slight hint of chocolate, then a quick, slightly tart finish. Full of flavor, yet refreshing.

Draft at Merrifield location. Pours a coper color with a medium white head. Aroma of caramel, malts. Flavor is malt, toasted, nuts, toffee. A pretty good one of it’s style. Easy to consume.

Served on draft at the Merrifield location. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium head. Good head retention and fair lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, nuts, toffee. Taste is nuts, toasted malts, caramel, plum, raisin and other light fruity notes. Medium bodied.

Draft. Pours a nice mahogany color with a good white head. Nice lacing gets left behind. Roasted malt notes in the nose, but very light. I see a definite trend with their beers. Medium low carbonation with a light mouthfeel. Roasted malt, nuts, and a touch of caramel on the palate. The finish is very clean but a bit on the watery side. One of their better beers in my opinion.

Sampled at Brew at the Zoo at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. 4oz sample poured a transparent dark, maple brown with a thin white head. Nose is alright, grainy, bready with a hint of chocolate. Flavor is similar, more fruits, breads and grains - the chocolate malts really come through on the flavor making it very sweet. Finish is flat and a little watery. I’m not a fan of lagers but I actually liked this.

Draft sample at Merrifield location. Pours red/brown. Big malt nose, sweet caramel and chocolate with mild biscuit. Taste is very dunkel-esque (even though it’s a vienna), lots of chocolate and roast, some caramel with a nice, crisp and quiet finish. Tasty beer.

Beige head atop a crystal clear copper body. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, some caramel, light nutty. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, some lager yeast, nutty, light roast, caramel, faint smoke, grass. Light-medium body with a bit of stickiness, easy drinking.

This beer rocks! Crystal clear mohogany lager with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Terrific lacework. The nose is very rich and malty. Plenty of dark fruit and clover honey. Also, light molasses and alcohol in the aroma. Tastes caramely, rich and roasty with a medium dose of alcohol in the flavor. Very well-balanced. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Mid-length, astringent finish! Wow! I've never given a vienna a score above 4.0... until now. This is the only one I've had that stands on it's own... instead of just being a good compliment to a bag of beef jerky or a Mexican meal. A winner!
