On tap at Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville, VA. Opaque, deep ruddy brown, near black with fair lacing. Aroma of slightly smokey, roasted malt and coffee. Taste is dry, slightly bitter roasted malt and coffee flavor. Slightly lighter than medium body with high carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice dry stout, clean yeast, well attenuated, light chocolate and a touch of cola. Medium/light body is soft with light carbonation. Nice stuff.

On tap 12/31/08: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin light tan head. Aroma is mild and slightly roasted. Body starts with average fullness and some roasty grainy character with metallic notes before a thin finish. Pretty bland and not very stout.

Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAR 22, 2009
Draft. Pours a pitch black with a nice, creamy tan head. The head is slow to fade leaving behind excellent lacing. Coffee, caramel, and vanilla are present in the nose. Low carbonation and a very creamy mouthfeel. A bit of dryness as expected for the style. Coffee and a bite of bittersweet chocolate on the palate. The coffee taste lingers awhile. The body is a little too watery in my opinion.

Draft at Centreville. Pours a dark brown with a head that diminishes to a wisp. Aroma of dark roasted malts. Flavor of molasses and dark roast with an average attenuation. Semi dry finish with some huskiness.

Dark brownish black, thin creamy tan head. Soft roasty chocolate nose with hints of burnt toast and coffee. Flavor is more of the same with light chocolate and coffee tones rounding to a faint hop bitterness. Light bodied and tad thin, soft carbonation, dry, bittersweet finish. Decent...
