Draft at Sweetwater. Hazy straw yellow with almost no head after a few seconds. Only a faint nose of yeast is evident. Nice clean, well incorporated flavors of cloves, banana, lemon, and sourdough lead to a short, refreshing finish.

On tap in Falls Church. Great aroma to this wit. Spicy and fruity with teaberry, coriander, orange peel and sweet malty notes. Cardammon? Sweet and musky. Cloudy golden with thick white lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet, wheaty with orange and teaberry. Light rind and coriander bitterness at finish. Yeasty and rich. Big flavor on this one. Great spicy-sweet finish. Tons of cardammon.

Really cloudy in the glass, even for a wit. Looks like overly pulpy grapefruit juice. The nose has nice fruit and spice notes, but there is also a grainy yeastiness that smells fresh. Full, thick mouthfeel, slightly dry finish.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 radagast83 (3110) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - JUL 7, 2009
Draft at Merrifield (Falls Church) location. Pours a hazy, cloudy yellow color with a white head. Initially the aroma is pretty subtle, as it’s far too cold when it’s initially served (frozen glasses, come on!). As it warms the aroma comes out - spices, banana, yeast. Flavors are stronger, spicier, and pretty refreshing.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jrob21 (2011) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - AUG 13, 2007
Draft sample at falls church. Catch name, that’s for sure. Ok beer. Muted banana flavors. Good spice aromas and flavors. Nice cloves. Cloudy yellow color. A little one dimensional and could have a little more malty characteristics.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 3fourths (6950) - Straßgiech, Bavaria, GERMANY - JUL 3, 2007
Sterling location. Light cloudy yellow, almost has a milky white haze. Straightforward crisp lemon and wheat flavors, similar aroma, only a sprinkling of coriander and orange peel, really weak in that respect. Palate is a bit difficult to like, it’s lightly fizzy, almost passing for peppery, but at times it becomes slick and soapy like olive oil. I keep thinking that they must have modeled this after Blue Moon, because it’s about as far as you can get from traditional witbier. I mean it tasted fine, especially on a hot summer day, it will satisfy only because it refreshes, but stand it up against true witbier and it wouldn’t last one second.
