Beginning almost a decade ago we began working with Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper to help them in their mission of protecting the river which provides clean water for millions of folks in the southeast (quite possibly you and definitely the brewery!) What began as donating cases of Sweetwater for fundraisers and post river clean refreshments turned into the Save the Hooch Campaign, raising over $250,000 to date for UCRs mission. The success of the campaign has spread throughout the southeast to other local communities and their local Waterkeepers. Waterkeeper Hefeweizen continues our mission to raise aware

Draft at Mellow Mushroom Huntsville. Pours opaque golden amber with a thick, fizzy white head and lots of lacing. Tastes like orange, banana, grapefruit, bubblegum, and musky wheat. Medium body and carbonation. Smells like musky wheat, orange, bubblegum, and faint grapefruit.

12 oz. can from Louisville beer stored; shared with my Boo. Aroma: Banana yeastiness; clove and gum in equal parts. Moderate, but appropriate sweetness for the style. Appearance: Poured a slightly hazy, rich gold with slim streams of carbonation holding up a foamy white head; the head settles into a wispy skin. Flavor: Dried wheat notes up front; this really opens up more midway through and finishes with a clove spiciness. Palate: Medium body, tacky texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: A completely respectable American Hefeweizen. Definitely worth a try for fans of the style.

A descent tasting beer. Nothing really special but still drinkable on a hot day. Grateville dead.

Hazy golden-orange with a thoroughly resilient off-white head. Aroma of bubblegum, yeasty phenols, and grain. Taste is yeasty and a little sweet. Medium bodied and a little bubbly. Not my favorite.

An aggressive American style hefe. Very phenolic, tending more to clove than banana, but elements of both. Carbonation strong, fizzy, carbonic bite.

12oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a big foamy off-white head. Nice head retention. Aroma is of wheat, banana, spice, and clove. Smells good. Taste is of wheat, spice, and clove. Very big banana taste as well. Has a very dry, bready malt backbone. Lingering banana and spice characters. Slight alcohol taste underlying. Mouthfeel is very carbonation, and slightly soapy. Body is light, but not watery. Drinks real easy, but nothing amazing. Its not bad, though.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5591) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2015
Sampled on draft this beer poured a slightly hazy yellow-gold color with a small foamy white head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was bready, yeasty, citrus and clove. The flavor was very bready, tangy, sweet orange and hints of peach and clove. Long finish with a touch of bubblegum. Medium body. Solid.

12oz bottle. 8/23/15 code date. Appearance: Golden and nearly clear, with a quickly dissipating foam cap. No apparent yeast left in the bottle. Aroma: Apple and pear esters dominate, more typical of Belgian yeast than German. Typical banana and clove is missing. Taste: Sweet, spicy Apple and pear esters abound. Bitterness only enough to offset the sweetness Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with only the slightest creaminess. Carbonation is low for the style. Finish: Lingering pear and spice, with a hint of graininess on the tongue. Overall: Decent beer, but kisses them ark for what Id expect from a hefe. No yeast present in bottle, low carbonation, and yeast character skews more Belgian than German

bottle that pours a medium yellow with white head and no lacing...the aroma a nice wheat blend with spices. medium carbonation and medium on the flavor as well. just kind of misses the mark for a true hefe but not really complaining it flavorful, its got a nice little bite on the end. overall its very drinkable and has a good flavor.
