3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 TURDFERGUSON (3580) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - NOV 21, 2011
Bottle shared by Butters. A bottle that is local to me that I have not rated. Always a nice treat. This was actually surprisingly solid. Not too overly sweet or overly spiced. Maybe a little hopped up as the Americans like it, but I it was better than expected for a style I rarely enjoy too much.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Butters (3356) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 18, 2011
Sampled at the DC gathering at GT’s place. Clear yellow blonde pour with minimal white head. Clean somewhat spicy with some faint banana, and yeast. Hint of vegetal on the tail that I’m not digging but its very faint. Pretty classic american style of hefe. Nothing too special, but cool that its a benefit beer.

Bottle. Pours out a yellow color with a white head on it. Smell is full of bananas and a touch of clove; no real hop or alcohol presence. Taste is sweet and smooth, very easy to drink. Had this on a hot day back in the summer. Well worth drinking - better than rated.

22 oz bomber from Matt. Poured a hazy golden yellow with an average sized bright white foamy head. Aroma of rotting banana peels, wet wheat, green olive juice, bad cherry juice, hint of skunk cabbage leaf. The body was was too fizzy with overly lively carbonation. Flavor of corriander, spices, pepper, wheat, bad banana, and wet dough. Meh.

A: The beer pours a cloudy golden color with a finger of white head.
S: Smells more like a witbier than a hefeweizen. Some banana and clove, but there is also a lot of coriander and orange peel. A bit of sweet citrus, definitely some bread and wheat.
T: The flavor is quite similar as there is some sweet banana and citrus to go along with the sweet malt and bread. A bit too much lemon peel character, maybe some orange peel bitterness. Might even be a little apple.
M: Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: A weird combination of witbier and hefeweizen. Not really a great example of either one.
