COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beginning almost a decade ago we began working with Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper to help them in their mission of protecting the river which provides clean water for millions of folks in the southeast (quite possibly you and definitely the brewery!) What began as donating cases of Sweetwater for fundraisers and post river clean refreshments turned into the Save the Hooch Campaign, raising over $250,000 to date for UCR’s mission. The success of the campaign has spread throughout the southeast to other local communities and their local Waterkeepers. Waterkeeper Hefeweizen continues our mission to raise aware

Pale, hazy yellow with a decent white head. Aroma is slight banana and slightly earthy. Flavor is clean up front with a slightly musty aftertaste. Some cloves are pleasant throughout. Overall, decent hefeweizen, but not anything special.

Bottle from the Tackle Box. Pours a somewhat hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is some sweet bread, some banana, some clove, some light sweetness and yeast. Flavor is similar with banana, clove, bread, and sweet yeast. Light to medium in body and nice for the style.

Solid hefe. Pour from a bottle . Really like that this beer is part of a river protection project. Cool! Hazy light amber pour. Nice white head. Lots of belgian spice from the yeast. Refreshing and light.

Light with citrus, spice, and yeast. Full finish with some lingering peppery spice. Not bad.

12oz bottle into pint glass. Pours a hazy golden orange with a large bright white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma of citrus (orange and lemon), banana, clove, cinammon, and grass. Taste is banana, grapefruit and clove up front. Behind that is a nice malt base of white bread and biscuits and a bit of grassy hops. Not really tasting the cinnamon as much, but there is definitely a spicy little kick to it. Almost a peppery burn going down. Rather dry on the palate with a medium body, slick texture, average carbonation, and a dry, slightly bitter, quick finish of mostly biscuity malt and clove. Overall a bit of a standout among hefeweizens due to the spicy kick, although a bit heavier, more filling than most hefes that I am used to. Still pretty damn tasty though and definitely very drinkable!

Appearance is a golden yellow with a slight cloudiness. Prominent head with the initial pour. Taste has a good yeasty flavor with ripe bananas in the background. I wasn’t expecting much from this beer and I was actually impressed. In my opinion it’s not as good as some the top German hefeweizens, but it definitely is a contender. Good overall representation of the style. I will be buying this again.

Hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Spicy banana clove nose. This has a very traditional banana and clove flavor with some orange peel. Nice dusty spice finish.

ah, another day, another american wheat ale trying to call itself a hefe. looks closer to a wit in terms of cloudiness, with zero of the clove and banana esters you would expect. its thin, watery and bland.

Misty amber, carpeting white head, bad label, standard US longneck. Pleasant, fruity/yeasty aroma, with that starchy yeast funk. Phenolic, medicinal, tangy, on the dry side - very lightly sweet. Odd chemical ending, limp body. Not great. New Leaf Market.

Glad to see six packs of this recently hitting the shelves here. The pour is a golden color, no haze to it, with a big fluffy head on top. The aroma is nice: clove, cinnamon, wheat, and fruity esters. Initially slick and creamy in the mouth with flavors of wheat, banana, orange peel, light clove, and some spice kicks in towards the back end. A touch of odd grain sneaks in there in the finish to go with lingering fruit and wheat notes. As this warms, I pick up some bubblegum flavor as well. Light in the body, but not thin, with some active carbonation. This is nice. Good job by Sweetwater.
