Beginning almost a decade ago we began working with Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper to help them in their mission of protecting the river which provides clean water for millions of folks in the southeast (quite possibly you and definitely the brewery!) What began as donating cases of Sweetwater for fundraisers and post river clean refreshments turned into the Save the Hooch Campaign, raising over $250,000 to date for UCR’s mission. The success of the campaign has spread throughout the southeast to other local communities and their local Waterkeepers. Waterkeeper Hefeweizen continues our mission to raise aware

Draft at Tyler’s in Durham. Pours a bright hazy golden with a small white head. Served in a pint glass and lacking an inch of beer off the top. Thanks for the 12 oz. pint, y’all. Taste was refreshing on this hot day. A bit more tart and acidic than some, with banana candy and lactic notes.

Poured a slightly clouded gold. Bananas cloves etc. A pretty competent hefeweizen really.

12oz bottle, from Dutch’s. Best if enjoyed by 8/27/15. Kind of hazy golden color. Thin white head. Leaves decent, somewhat loose ropes of lace. Decent banana, bready wheat aroma. Light spice. Moderate-plus sweet taste. Light to moderate bitter, some mild dryness. Lightly slick. Kind of crisp, somewhat sharp light to moderate carbonation. Decent hefeweizen. Not exemplary; it’s no Weihenstephaner. But solid flavor, and reasonably easy-drinking.

on tap @ Ei8ht Ball / Bellevue KY --- Cloudy dirty straw color, bright white head cover, stripes of lace. Taste is malt that’s hand-in-hand with spices (but not coriander), that noves smoothly to a lightly hopped finish. A simple Hefeweizen, but it works well on those terms.

Pretty decent hefe, though the aroma is unusually faint. Thankfully picks up on the tongue with the expected banana and clove.

It pours golden with a full white head. It has aromas of orange, wheat, spices, specifically the smell of allspice, and leather. It has flavors or wheat, yeast, orange, spices, and salt.

355ml bottle. Golden hazed pour with no lees. Aroma is banana and lemon. Flavor is clove, vanilla, banana, lemon. It is an undeveloped hefeweizen.

Lemon, mint, coriander nose. Cloudy amber, thick head. Coriander, subtle bubble gum, mint. Chewing gum finish. Medium body. Tasty, but kind of a hybrid witbier and hefewizen. At least it isn’t an American wheat.

Bottle. This was surprisingly good with lots of classic crisp hefe flavor. Will get again.

Faded to a thin film, no lace. Aroma was big time wheat and yeasty notes, somewhat spicy, light clove, with a small earthy hop presence. Flavors were also wheat heavy, yeast imparts big flavors, lightly sweet, yet bittersweet finish. Smooth mouthfeel, carbonation rather light.
