Beginning almost a decade ago we began working with Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper to help them in their mission of protecting the river which provides clean water for millions of folks in the southeast (quite possibly you and definitely the brewery!) What began as donating cases of Sweetwater for fundraisers and post river clean refreshments turned into the Save the Hooch Campaign, raising over $250,000 to date for UCR’s mission. The success of the campaign has spread throughout the southeast to other local communities and their local Waterkeepers. Waterkeeper Hefeweizen continues our mission to raise aware

Draft at Tyler’s in Durham. Pours a bright hazy golden with a small white head. Served in a pint glass and lacking an inch of beer off the top. Thanks for the 12 oz. pint, y’all. Taste was refreshing on this hot day. A bit more tart and acidic than some, with banana candy and lactic notes.

Appearance: average to slightly darker golden color, pours with a big beige head, hazy Aroma: very faint aroma, hard to pick up much at all, maybe lemon, bread Taste: banana, lemon, some light hops on the end, some sweetness to it Palate: very full mouthfeel, banana aftertaste, frothy Overall: pretty good hefe, could use some more banana flavor, and could use some aroma too, very drinkable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Yeasty nose, with light floral stuff, and gentle wheat. Hazy dark straw color, thick head, and good lace. Sweetish initial, some wheat, light banana, mild spice, and decent bittering in mid and final. Medium body. Pleasant, sweetish hefeweizen.

Aroma: banana, clove, sweet, refreshing, making my mouth water! Appearance: opaque golden color with nice two inch head when poured, slight lacing left on glass Taste: classic flavors of a heifeweizen with banana and clove, really good flavor Palette: light medium body, leaves a nice strong flavor at the end Overall: this is a fantastic beer, this type beer is one of my favorites and this beer does well for the heifeweizen name ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Full pour if golden liquid with off white head. Nose is fruited but not a lot, paired with typical hefe yeast esters, and some spice. Flavor follows, not as spiced though which makes it more enjoyable for me. I’d do it again.

Golden with a thin head and a nose comprised of clover and overripe banana. Mildly-carbonated and syrupy with a honey, banana, peppery finish.

Sweetwater Waterkeeper Hefeweizen has a thin, white head (small shelf glass), a very hazy (powdery sediment suspended throughout), yellow-gold appearance, bubble streams, and a small amount of lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of spiced white bread, coriander, and a touch of lemon peel. Taste is of those elements, with some banana pudding, orange chutney, a shade of hop bitterness, and white pepper. Mouthfeel is medium and fluffy, and Sweetwater Waterkeeper finishes dry, easy going, and refreshing. RJT

Aroma is wheat, lightly clovey, and an herbal, floral hop character. Flavor is about the same. Fairly typical with more o assertive hops. Hazy orange yellow pour. Pretty nice.
