Beginning almost a decade ago we began working with Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper to help them in their mission of protecting the river which provides clean water for millions of folks in the southeast (quite possibly you and definitely the brewery!) What began as donating cases of Sweetwater for fundraisers and post river clean refreshments turned into the Save the Hooch Campaign, raising over $250,000 to date for UCR’s mission. The success of the campaign has spread throughout the southeast to other local communities and their local Waterkeepers. Waterkeeper Hefeweizen continues our mission to raise aware

Crisp clean light biscuits sweetness with good clove and bananas presence, basically to style with light hints of hoppiness in a mildly bitter finish. Very good American interpretation.

Lemon, mint, coriander nose. Cloudy amber, thick head. Coriander, subtle bubble gum, mint. Chewing gum finish. Medium body. Tasty, but kind of a hybrid witbier and hefewizen. At least it isn’t an American wheat.

Bottle. This was surprisingly good with lots of classic crisp hefe flavor. Will get again.

Faded to a thin film, no lace. Aroma was big time wheat and yeasty notes, somewhat spicy, light clove, with a small earthy hop presence. Flavors were also wheat heavy, yeast imparts big flavors, lightly sweet, yet bittersweet finish. Smooth mouthfeel, carbonation rather light.

12 oz. bottle. It pours a semi clear gold color with nice streaming bubbles and a fluffy white head. The aroma is very pleasant with strong wheat, pepper, clove and hints of banana and bubble gum. The flavor is wheat, pepper, clove, baking spice and a little white grape. Very light hints of banana in the finish. Mild acidity, and maybe just a tad too sweet. Perfectly carbonated with a very nice, refreshing body. A very well balanced, aggressive Bavarian style hefe.

Large draft beer, on tap at Boardwalk Billy’s in North Charlotte near UNCC. Aromas of banana and clove are delightful. Pour is hazy but still translucent with a nice head. Tastes like a good banana followed by some clove notes. Finish is sweet and refreshingly clean. This is a very good Hefe!

Bottle. Poured hazy golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate hefe spice and floral aroma. Medium body with a thin smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable brew.

Appearance: average to slightly darker golden color, pours with a big beige head, hazy Aroma: very faint aroma, hard to pick up much at all, maybe lemon, bread Taste: banana, lemon, some light hops on the end, some sweetness to it Palate: very full mouthfeel, banana aftertaste, frothy Overall: pretty good hefe, could use some more banana flavor, and could use some aroma too, very drinkable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Yeasty nose, with light floral stuff, and gentle wheat. Hazy dark straw color, thick head, and good lace. Sweetish initial, some wheat, light banana, mild spice, and decent bittering in mid and final. Medium body. Pleasant, sweetish hefeweizen.
