What happens when a 500 year old Belgian style ale gets rear-ended by a truckload of pompous American hops? It equals one heck of an ambulance chaser of a beer. This is an American style Belgian IPA, with a subtle phenolic flavor in combination with citrusy/piney hops, well balanced at 6.2% and 55 IBUs, with a tart, dry finish. 355ml embossed bottle. Hazed golden orange pour. Aroma is tropical ruit and orange, hint of bubblegum. Flavor is a nice interplay between spice and tropical fruit, it is refreshing.

Bottle. Clear. Orange Color. Aroma is orange peel primarily with coriander, sage, pine needles, and even an ever so light garlic. Flavor is orange, pine, all that, tangy and spritzy with a light bitter finish. I love the yeast with this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Wegman’s. Hazy straw pour with off-white head. Nose was malt, resiny hops, grapefruit. Tasted hoppy, citric, with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, pale malt. Medium body and complexity.

I have had this on draft and bottle. Pours a hazy copper with nice white head. Smells great with cirrus hoops. Taste is full with bright citrus and near perfect balance and bitterness. Complex taste. Love this beer.

I guess the best way to get me to drink a witbier is to load it up on hops so you can’t taste the phenols. Despite that, I have had a few such beers and didn’t think all that much of them, but this one was pretty decent with the resiny hops really taking over here, but otherwise had the nice light palate of a wit. One downside is a bit of soapiness from the flavoring hops.

Pours a clear gold with about 1’’ of head. Aroma is mild with some citrus, wheat and spice. Taste follows the nose with subtle bitterness in the finish.. The Belgian qualities are there but very muted. Medium bodied and crisp. Easy to drink but nothing stands out.

Bottle. Kroger. Pours golden amber with a nice, large frothy beige head. Lovely hop aroma: sweet fruits: mango, peach, ruby-red grapefruit. Taste: Meh. Big disappointment after the aroma. There’s piney hops, wet cardboard, rice, grapefruit peel.

Nice fruit aromas led by Bekgian spice, yeast, coriander. Weak watery palate. Flavors of pine, earthy, clean lemon. Dry finish.

Ok. Standard style. Nice coloring orange and light yellow. Some hops. Very easy but not exciting. Tap

Aroma of nice Belgian spices and hops. Fine but similar to other sweet water ipas just so so for me.
