What happens when a 500 year old Belgian style ale gets rear-ended by a truckload of pompous American hops? It equals one heck of an ambulance chaser of a beer. This is an American style Belgian IPA, with a subtle phenolic flavor in combination with citrusy/piney hops, well balanced at 6.2% and 55 IBUs, with a tart, dry finish. Grains: 2-Row, Wheat, Flaked Oats Hops: Bravo, Ahtanum, Centennial, Cascade Dry Hop: Ahtanum, Centennial, Simcoe Yeast: Strong Belgian Ale ABV: 6.2% IBUs: 55

Pours a mostly clear classic golden color with a very large, relatively well-retaining white head. Citrus sweetness in the bouquet. Wet with an underlying powdery, faint astringency. Just a fudge thin. A ricey quality in the flavor along with a grassy and citrusy hop character.

Bottle from Peacock Liquor in Port St Lucie West (they didnít have much else, donít bother stopping). Best by 4/23/14. Pours a yellowish orange with a white head, very clear, leaving a perma-cling lacing. Aroma has pine and citrus with a tangy spicy yeast. Taste is of sweet fruits, grapefruit, spicy pine and resinous. Light to medium bodied. Finishes sweet with some bitterness. Sweetwater has solid stuff, as ever. Not a fan of the belgian IPAs.

12 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Pours slightly hazy, orange-amber, and with a rather weak head that leaves better than expected lacing. Aroma; fruity with a hint of baked white bread and a touch of Belgian yeast. Subtle hops, perhaps connected to the dating: just past BB date. Flavor: fruity and mildly spicy with a hop level on the low end of the range for style. Moderately complex. O: tasty, interesting and easy drinking.

> Undrinkable golden ale that is nothing in the realm of White IPA

[ Bottle][ Trade Bonus ][ 12oz ][ Free ][ Right Proper Flared Pint ][ 4/8/14 ]
>> Pours a lower carbonated, clear golden. Okay foam, weak lace. Nose is juicy, squashy, mild sugar, butterscotch candies, flashes of spicy yeast phenols, cabbage, opening up to DMS. peppermint tic-tacs. Taste is very papery, watery, bland. Perhaps not fresh or heat damaged, but essentially undrinkable.

>!< heat damaged, paper, DMS

Golden with a thin white head. Aroma is mildly grassy with a bit of slight notes of spice. Flavor is mildly hoppy with a bit of light spice. A little peppery with some mild yeast. Light and refreshing, similar to their IPA with the grapefruit bitterness turned down a bit.

Tasted on 3/20/14 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Craft Brewed. Pours clear dark orange with an average white head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is pretty straightforward American style IPA, with plenty of citrus, resin, and herbal hops, and just a touch of added yeast spice and hint of wheat malt. The flavor is features the same hop profile from the nose with a bit more spicy yeast, a touch of white peppercorn, and a bit of wheat. The body is medium with average, stinging carbonation, and a long spicy yeast and hops finish. This beer is super easy to drink.

Bottle from Brusin Ales. Pours orange with a thin white head. doesnít leave a lot of lacing. Has a nice orange note on the nose. By this point Iím not getting a lot of hoppiness on the tongue but itís still a decent Belgian wit.
