3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Skunked aroma of grassy, slightly lemony hops and sweet, pale malt. The latter dominates. Crisp and light taste, moderate carbonation, moderately flavourful, with a nice balance between the residual sugars and the moderately strong bitterness. Really nice beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at a mexican restaurant, happy to see something else than Corona and Salitos Tequila. Poured into its original glass. Nice golden yellow colour with two fingers of white thick head on top of it. Lots of activity in the glass. Looks promising.
Aroma of hops, nothing to write back home too though.
Taste is much beter, nice bitterness even from the begining with lots of hops.
Thin to medium on the body, average carbonation.
After it was brought to my table, I checked for the brewer here, and when I saw Bavaria, in combination with the clear glass bottle, I was afraid it would be another boring pils, but I was pleasantly surprised. Quite good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
0.33l bottle from Koznum supermarket, Livno, BiH. It poured clear golden body with small head. Herbal hop, grainy and toasty malt aroma, touched with a salty note. Fine moderately bitter flavor from apple and herbal hops, while biscuit malt brought in some sweetness. Medium bodied with long, nice herbal and citrus fruity hops (Cascade maybe and only at this point). Really good for a macro pils.

As Swinckels’ Superieur Pilsener. A surprise find at the big Konzum in Livno, Bosnia. Lovely, but unfortunately clear glass bottle.... no wonder reviews of this vary so much. It poured a golden body with a small white head. Grainy malty nose, slightly salty, maybe, just MAYBE a tiny touch of hops, that might just be some really dumbed down Cascades. The taste starts with appley notes and distinct notes of pine, there’s a nice sweet grainy maltiness but it ends in paper. Some ok bitterness. This is by all means an above-average macro pils, and as such a welcome addition on the market there I guess.

33 cL clear and strangely shaped bottle at Bar le Duc. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is grassy, crisp hoppy and light cornish. Mild sweet, cornish and light caramelish. Mild bitter and crisp hoppy finish. Smooth and easy.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2014 330ml bottle (Merlin, Riga)
4 Weird aroma, very estery and with a strange sour fruity spicy sulfury hoppy mess. Some butter like a Greede Kerching, Definitely full of something.
1+ Pale and fizzy, and tragically it’s a clear glass bottle. That might explain the weirdness of the aroma (I’ve never encountered a skunk, I wouldn’t know one from a goth squirrel.)
4 Odd bitter taste, like a crappy eastern european pale lager that’s had the water removed. I.e. concentrated not-good-ness.
2+ Watery, crisp carbonation. Some alcohol, some dusty dirt in the finish. At least it has a real kick of bitter hops.
7 I can’t imagine why this got high scores off people. I guess this bottle has been sitting near too many incandescent light for too long. But if the dozy fuckers put it in a clear glass bottle, they’re to blame.

11.2 ounce bottle - Olde Crabapple Bottle Shoppe in Alpharetta, Georgia. A fancy, albeit it clear bottle design.
Appearance: Pours a clear, golden body with a full inch of snow white suds. Thin layers of lacing on the descent.
Smell: Smells skunky immediately upon opening the bottle, though not overpowering, as it is in some cases. Given a moment to waft away, it reveals a faintly sweetish pils malt scent with wee notes of spice and citrus.
Taste: Lightly sweet, softly grainy pilsner maltiness. A few pleasant drops of honey water. Low lemony citrus quality. A hint of spicy, bitter herbs accompanied by some bitterness to balance. Soft, subtle, drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Moderate carbonation.
Overall: A beer that seems it’d be far, far better fresh at its source and preferably on tap, as these clear, ornate bottles won’t properly protect its contents within for long journeys.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
It comes in a funky clear bottle. It is standard skunky euro pale lager type swill. The bottle rules though. I originally reviewed this under a different name but i think this is what i had.
