Bottle, 2010 harvest. Bright red-orange amber, low lace. Acidic and earthy aroma. Starts acidic on the tongue, segueing into a citric and grassy hop note, crisp, light leafy, lactic again in the finish. Fruity, mandarin middle, earthy/salty, medium to light body, sparkly champagne mouthfeel. quick fruity finish. Interesting, not quite worth its sticker price though.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JorisPPattyn (7306) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 26, 2011
Medium, darker cream-coloured head, reasonably stable over cloudy, but bright-orange beer. Caramel, and a fine, slighlty lactic/acidic aroma, that comes as very lambic-like to me; citrus, and fine aromatic (USA-typed?) hops. Like marrying sweetened or young lambic to Cascade... Coffeemilk, too. Taste features again a - very fine - lactic acidity, though less comparable to lambic. Lemon and lactic, sour cream flavours. Retronasal distinct earthy notes, like a filtered, slightly caramelsyrup-sweetened gueuze. Warming up, it acquires more vinous (vin blanc sur lie, as Muscadet) notes. Fine, indeed Champenoise-like carbonisation, if less intense than real sparkling wine. Slick, medium bodied. Excellent, I must admit. Blind, I’d even wagered an overcarbonated Lindemans/Timmermans gueuze, better hopped. If only they’d come clean about its real point of brewing...
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 madmitch76 (9867) - , Essex, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2011
7th August 2011 Dean Swift - RBESG Tasting. A 7.1% abv bottle -Evnte 2010. Hazy gold beer, big pale cream coloured head. Very light frothy palate. Creamy malt. Light sour apple - in a good way! Light citrus. Creamy malt finish. Unusual! The apple tastes fresh and deliberate rather than a bi product of a brewing mistake. Halfway between a cider and a pale ale. Very enjoyable.
