English: This Imperial Stout is based on a blend of pale, wheat, caramel and black malts. The aroma from lots of American hops mingles elegantly with the aroma of dark malts, after which the beer will surely surprise, when spicy tones such as coffee strikes the taste palette - along with the hops. Håndlangeren can be enjoyed alone, for example as "the night’s last beer", but it also commits itself excellent with more powerful dishes such as cheeses. It will evolve with age and can be stored for many years.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a tan head. Aroma smells like this has been more hopped up, I get old hop tea leaf flavors, roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark caramel, roasted malt and coffee. The flavor follows the nose with the old hop tea leaf flavors and almost grapefruit, some roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and the dark caramel. The body is full with a creamy mouth feel. Overall a pretty nice Imperial Stout and so far my favorite Syndikatet beer.

It’s pitch black with a huge, light brown and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, ashes and a touch of anise and subtle licorice. The flavor has a light sweetness and a dry light bitterness with notes of roasted malt, citrus and a touch of ripe fruits, licorice, hints of coffee and the finish is dry with a light bitterness and a touch of ashes.

Bottle @ home. Pitch black, small tan head that settles quickly, nice lacing. Aroma, roasted malts, lots of coffee, coffee, dark fruits, chocolate, hops, alcohol, vegetables. Taste, roasted malts, coffee, coffee, bitter dark chocolate, brown sugar, hops, caramel, spicy. Roasted malt, chocolate and dry liquorice in the aftertaste. Maybe a bit unbalanced. Would be nice with a barrel aged version.

Pours a black body with a small-ish, medium brown head that reduces to a thin layer and laces the glass well. The aroma is strong and roasted as it should be, with coffee, dark caramel and chocolate. Also quite much fruits, some alcohol and a herbal touch. The taste is moderate sweet and heavy to moderate bitter. The flavours are surprisingly hoppy and fruity, with lots of dark berries. The maltiness is quite gentle, although the dark roasted coffee is in place. It feels rather alcoholic, it has a full body, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice imperial stout that I’m sure some breweries would have labelled Black IPA.

Bottle@Voldby Ølmesse - Dark brown/black pour with medium tan head. Roasted caramel malts, with some dark bitter choc, meets some floral hoppy tones, pine, and some coffee in the bitter slightly spicy, roasted finish. Great stuff.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%, IBU 72. OG 1093, FG 1023. Very dark brown to black colour, large tan head. Strong aroma of American hops, notes of fruit and spruce. Also roasty notes with coffee, dark chocolate, mild spices and vanilla. The flavour has notes of strong coffee, dark bitter chocolate, liquorice, pepper and American hops with resin. Distinct bittering hops in the finish. Impressive beer.
