COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Nonnen (The Nun) is a classic Belgian abbey ale / Blonde. She is brewed from quality ingredients, Belgian aromatic malt, cane sugar, Belgian yeast and traditional European hop varieties. She is bright and inviting with a persistent white foam, comfortable with no sharp edges, nice and full bodied. The nun adds to the Syndicate a tinge of piety and innocence, but the rumors will know that she can help more than absolution. The recipe is a development of the brewer’s bronze winner at the Danish beer championship in 2010.

Shared bottle @Papsoe’s. A thin yellow blond head over a dark orangey amber body. Yeasty and spicy aroma with some fine fruit tones. Yeasty flavor as well. Spicy in citrus-zesty. Some tosted tones, and a slightly harsh malt-sweetness. Spiced, citrussy finish. A decent Belgian-styled ale.

Bottle, bought @ Hos Walter, Ebeltoft.
Hazy amber with a big, frothy, light off-white head. Aroma has light yeast, caramel, Belgian sugar, some slight cardboard, mild estery, some pear. Highish carbonation, fairly light and a bit creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has caramel, light biscuity and sugary. Fairly vinious and warming with some spicy edges. Pepper and light grapefruit in the finish. Okay, but the alcohol is a bit too prominent.
