Keg at a small beer shop Budapest. Dark mahogany brown with reddy hues and a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, berry fruit, blackberry jam, plum, apricot. A little artificial on the nose. Flavour is composed of sweet jammy fruits, berry, apricot, coca cola, little toasted malts in the finish. Palate is medium sweet, highish carbonation, little sugary. Interesting enough the fruit character overwhelms the dopplebok under it.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Drak red amber colour. moderate malty and light hoppy powerfull berries notes. Light bitter powerfull berries notes. Average finish. Oily/syruply palate. strange but nice.

Big blueberry aroma and taste. The substantial booze is actually really well hidden. Wonderfully deceptive.

0.33 l bottle. Black color with no head. Blueberry in aroma. In aroma it’s sweet & fruity at first, which turns into a bitter finishing. The high ABV is faint. Pleasant beer.

A bit heavy on the blueberry, plum, purple drank aroma. Very fruity, smooth, deceptively light considering its abv. Dark with minimal head as expected. The sweet blueberry fruitiness isn?t artificial or too sweet, however it dominates so much of the palate that I don?t get much else from it. A fine dessert beer for blueberry lovers, but not my kind of doppelbock personally. The malts are hidden and it?s like drinking an oily fruit juice. If you want blueberry beer I preferred Sea Dog?s blueberry wheat. No question for me that Bekesszentandras?s Black rose doppelbock beats this fruity variety. Neverthless a creative take on the style.

Bottled - Hazy deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma of red berries, some malt, no hops. Taste is sweet, plum, caramel and some cherry, no hop bitterness. Full body, low carbonation, sweet-sourish finish. Too sweet and fruity for me.
