Bottled (thanks fonefan!). Hazy ambery brown colour, small beige head. Aroma is chlorine, some caramel and mild salty notes. Flavour is sour wood, some dry wooden notes.

smaken: volmoutig, stevig zoet, bessen, donker fruit, bruine/kandij suiker, licht bitter, karamel.
medium body, zeer licht waterig, mooie fijne smaken, géén overdreven bovenliggende smaken.

Stone bottle: Big creamy beige head which disappears slowly. The beer has a dark red dark ruby brown color and top of all it’s hazy too. Smell barley malts, caramel, hint of sour/sauerkraut, hint of autumnal herbs, dust, yeast, berries, cheese and grains. Taste is pretty nice with a tiny sour tint: barley malts, caramel, berries, bitter, hint of sour, hint of yeast, some darker fruits and sweets. Aftertaste is a mix of bitter, malts, berries, hints of sour, herbs, grains and yeast. Low carbo, soft light watery mouthfeel, medium body and a texture between watery and creamy. That sour touch, berries, very pleasent, though the body is a bit too medium...

Bottle. Dark brown pour, huge foamy tan head. Aroma is spicy, brown sugars and some licorice. Flavor is slightly sweet, a hint of sour and creamy. A bit boring but well drinkable.

Bottle 0,33ltr: First time i buyed a beer from this brewery thats filled in glass bottle. Dark brown coloured brew with an slightly sour start, than bitter with hints of caramel.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2012 So I visited the Openluchtmuseum in Arnhem. I thought it to be a nice opportunity to see how Holland was back then and of course buy some beer from the museum’s brewery. So I got myself the beer they’re making for their 100 years and a week later I got their herfstbock, from the liquor store they’re cooperating with. A sample I had also at the museum and it was promising, let’s see now that I have a whole bottle. Bottle is ceramic or kind of porselain one, with the same label in the front as their pilsener and their other beers. Only on the back you can read that is in fact a autumn bock. It has a swing top cap, which when opened revealed me that the bottle was totally full! Seriously, one more single drop wouldn’t fit in there. Quantity was 750 ml. Poured into a snifter glass. Great appearance. Very dark brown body, which becomes very dark ruby when hold against the light. Huge beige head of four fingers, with great retention. Light lacing left behind. Even now, about twenty minutes after I poured it, there is a thin layer of foam on top of the beer and around the glass this layer is even thicker. Aromas of toffee, dark fruits, some alcohol. Some caramel too. All of them very strong *edit The bottle I had was completely off, I was really disappointed. Next day I went back to my bottle store and they exchanged my off bottle for a good one. Taste is as I was remembering it when I had a sample at the museum. Medium sweet, with flavours of coffee, roasted malts and dark chocolate. Some dark fruits on the aftertaste. Medium thick on the body, with average carbonation. Overall, And after I finally had a good bottle I can say that this is a quite good bock. Too bad it’s not wider available and so expensive.

The head is ok, the body brown. It smells malty, sweet a bit woody. The taste is malty, sweet, woody, but more sweet sugary then aromatic. Overall ok. 10/10/9/10/-/10

drank it at home, with friends Deep orange brown, small head. Quite musty nose, old and oxidised. Heavy, not too pleasant.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive light brown foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear robyred and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a light roasted malty touch . This beer smells light roasted malt.
