3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (5415) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAY 18, 2013
Bottle sample @ VBPF ’13.

7/X/2012 - 75cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: X/14 (2012-1121)
Clear dark brown beer, red glare to it, big creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: caramel, some hops, mocha, dried fruits, brown sugar, cocoa powder, dark chocolate. MF: bit too much carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sour, hoppy start, bitter cocoa, dark chocolate, mocha, coffee. Aftertaste: dark chocolate, mocha, bitter hops, dry ending with roasted coffee flavours.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (7299) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 24, 2012
Pouring leads to overflowing mass of dark cream to tan head, slowly caving in, but reasonably stable over very dark orange-brown beer. Bit sourish nose; roasted, (quite) faint coffeeish notes, and more than a bit nutty. Bitterish, very roasted, and ever so slight sourish and sweetish-malty taste. Delicate, but succeeded balance. Finish is much drier, even ashy, sliding into a similar aftertaste. It has something spicy, as lavender or cypress tincture in it as well. Warming, it gets a lactic - or lactose - streak, getting sweeter. Very well-carbonated, creamy head, but the beer is medium bodied at best. Ceci n’était peut-être pas une Stout, mais ça y ressemblait bougrement bien! Thanks to BoboChamp!
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 77ships (2154) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 23, 2012
Thx. to Kraddel. 75 cl. swint-top bottle split. Pours a chestnut black with a big mocha head. The nose reveals a sweet lightly nutty roast, I am picking up here also quite a bit lacto, is this a milk stout or am I mistaken?, lightly sweetish chocolate mouse. Taste is an earthly sweet laco roast, mocha, plenty of nuts, tad overripe sweet uneatable berries giving a light sourness, bark, medium creaminess, coffee grounds, tad pralines. Coffee grounds and lacto body, not bad.
