3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
25.11.12. Bottle. Large amount of foam, quite compact, leaves thick lacing, mocha-colored. Clear, dark brown beer. Aroma is sugar, a bit of coffee, vinous, hint of sourness, strong dark sugar. Reminds me of Grimbergen Optimo Bruno, which is a very bad thing. Flavor is quite sweet, sourness that reminds me of Aardmonnik (not as strong). Again hints of the same Grimbergen. Alcohol is well hidden, I guess. Mouthfeel a bit foamy. Aftertaste malty and slightly sour.
Overall a different beer. The nasty sweet and sour combo that reminds me of Optimo Bruno is enough to make me dislike this one.

26/X/2012 - 75cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ Klaas’ place - BB: n/a (2012-1189) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!
Clear brown beer, aery beige to brown head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: mocha, coffee, dusty, some chocolate, cocoa powder, overripe and dried fruits. MF: lively carbon, a bit too much, medium body. Taste: red fruits, bit sourish, caramel, overripe banana, alcohol, little bitter, earthy, mocha, spices. Aftertaste: star anise, bit sour, mocha, hop bitterness, dry ending. Not sure if infected or intentional sourness. Doesn’t work for me in this type of beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
75cl bottle. Brown and hazy, big tanned head. Nose : Cheese, caramel, toffee, dairy, red fruits. Sip : decent carbonation, medium body, oily texture. Sweet with distinctive flavors of toffee, cherry, tart. Alcohol is well hidden but it comes back warming in the aftertaste. The flavor of this beer lasts long and it is mostly sweet, slightly sour. Really sweet and candy like but well balanced and delicious way to accompany cakes and maybe some wild meat. Nice.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Swing top bottle. Dark brown color. Maltaroma with caramel and soft spicy notes. Speculaas. Full bodied. Malty sweet flavor with hints of roast, pear drups and speculaas. The massive alcohol is hidden behind the even more massive sweetness.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft, Essen Kerstbierfestival 2011. Darker brown coloured ber with some very light carbonation and a small brown head. Herby aroma (hints of cloves). Rather alcohol - wintery aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is full malty roasted, sweet bitter with a clear spicy and alocohol touch. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Gusher! Muddy redish brown with a giant, staying, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has lots of red berries, raisins, chocolate, soft tartness. Plums and a bit of coriander. Medium, prickly carbonation, light oily but kinda light mouthfeel for the ABV. Flavour has mild viniousness, plums, coriander, mild milky chocolate. Soft lactic tartness as well. Fine beer, even if the gushing is annoying.
