3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 crossovert (4772) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 2, 2011This is a fruity, hoppy, but roasty stout, a really good one out of Belgium. A true Belgian stout.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Trappist1 (26) - BELGIUM - JUN 10, 2013
Alcoholisch in de neus. Heel donker van kleur, stevige schuimkraag. In de afdronk veel koffie, heel rokerig, alcoholisch, Maar kort van smaak, vooraan in de mond. Goeie porter !
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 richc (158) - Bolton, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2013
Pleasant roasty aroma masks what, in a lighter beer, might be an over powering phenolic note. Pushes clove almost into bandaid and antiseptic regions but not quite. Core flavour of this beer is a gentle roastiness with a little malt sweetness but it the bandaid returns in the aftertaste. This beer edges on flawed but is actually quite drinkable and not unpleasant
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dommod2011 (509) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2013
I dug up my garden today. I was a bit bored, relatives (not blood) had taken up my day meaning well, and I needed to do something productive. So I started digging. Wife asked what I had planned. I couldn’t answer, I just needed to dig. So I did. Then I got tired but I felt good. I’d achieved something. Just not sure what it is yet...
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rockspeny (15) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2013
From a 330c bottle, newly imported, not had time to settle! Pours a rich dark brown with big tan head, that slowly sinks to leave a tan ring. Trying not to get too much yeast into the glass. Smells of roast malt, oats and currants, makes me hungry. Tastes dry, sour creamy, oaty, bitter dark chocolate, the strong stuff you get from South America with a ton of cacao in. Went really well with the dried almonds I had at hand, a very satisfying beer went you want something dry and bitter, could easily have 2-3 of these in this mood. Good mouthfeel, not rich or heavy, just smooth with gentle carbonation.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 keanex (830) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - JAN 9, 2013
No bottling information, but a cool as hell swing top is included.
Appearance: A thick brown head resides shortly over a pitch black body and ends in a creamy ring around an other wise clean top.
Aroma: Lot’s of raisins in the aroma with some chocolate notes, the raisins or currants are too much for me.
Taste: Currants dominate the flavor with a light roasted presence on the finish. In-fact this is like a raisin beer, far too much presence.
Palate: A bit thin with some soft carbonation.
Overall: This is a disappointment to me, far too much currant flavor, no complexity to back it up, where’s the roasted and chocolate malts?
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 bierkitty (122) - Elysburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 6, 2013
Pours deep clear brown with substantial mocha head and lacing. The intoxicating aroma was strongly of roasted malts with a bit of molasses or toffee. Flavor was richly endowed with roasted malt and some dark fruits. The sweetness was happily restrained. This was delicious and drinkable and I’ll definately seek it out again.

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours near black with a massive tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a sweet chocolate and dark molasses flavor with a dry finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jkwood04 (2404) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 1, 2012
11.2oz bottle in an English pint. Pours dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted, and sweet malts, a little dough/spice, and light hops. Flavor the same. Average texture
A pretty good beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Maak_d (10) - - NOV 21, 2012
Aroma of roasty, chocolate, with a hint of fruity ester. Pours a gorgeous thick head with a boatload of lacing, color appears as a sort of dark dark black red. Taste is very malt forward - roasty and toasty with perhaps a hint of belgian yeast but less than expected. Palate is thick and coating but finishes dry. Very good stout but less Belgian-y than expected.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 magsinva (682) - Virginia, USA - OCT 9, 2012
Bottle from state line liquors - pours pitch with 2 fingers of milk chocolate foam. Aroma is chocolate with some smokey notes. Taste is bittersweet leans sweet, with some mild hop notes. Has a Belgian ale feeling to it which is weird. Overall, very interesting.
