33cl Bottle .(opens with a horrible gusher) Appearance Brown color wih , huge soapy beige head that lasts for a long time. But if yoir having 2/3 foams it’s a bit to much Aroma: malts,,caramel, brown and a sour dominant infection. Tast: quite infected, some caramel with odd infected sour tones. Decent body and carbonation. After sips the rest ended up straight to the sewer. Worst beer in months. There is one good point , the new label is much as the one currently shown in the picture over here.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque except at the edges dark brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The nice aroma was Anise brown ale and old ale. The mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a lingering malty aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of old ale mild caramel mildly vinous and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2015 Re-rating, I had this years ago when it first came onto the market but without any decent notes, I had another bottle of this, which gushed dramatically - literally half of the beer jumped out upon opening. What remained, showed a loose, thin, slightly moussy, pale beige head and a cloudy bronze brown colour. Aroma of cold coffee grounds, roasted chestnuts, dark chocolate, coriander seed, caramel, dead leaves, nutmeg, baker’s yeast, some glueish phenols, red wine vinegar and toast. Dried fruits in the onset, spicy notes both from phenols and from what I can only assume is coriander, caramelly and nutty malt basis with toasted, even somewhat roastedly bitterish edge in the end, yeasty and somewhat ’dirty’, very earthy finish, some tartness from infection which probably caused the gushing too, spicy phenols again and some leafy, peppery hop bitterness. I hate this kind of violent gushing and the result was quite unbalanced, clearly somewhat infected, making it resemble an ’oud bruin’ by pure chance, but still drinkable.

11.2 oz bottle, very cool new label. Nose is malty and has definite Belgian yeast, also a touch meaty and with light levels of toast/roast. Some sugary candis and dark stone fruit, darker swaths of caramel/toffee. Pours dark amber-brown with a large and dense rocky beige head. Taste is watered-down Dubbel with a very airy, expansive fizzy body; strong mineral character and light-medium bitterness, but almost no sweetness at all. Very faint tang. Fully attenuated and faintly warming, the fruit and malt characters fade relatively quickly and cede dominance to lasting yeasty character, again very airy and Belgian. OK for slow-going, but not revelatory.

Pas de corps, beaucoup de mousse...rien de spécial. L’étiquette est très captivante par contre.
