Huge explosion. Pours a fading beige head with a cola-brown body. Aromas of dark dried fruit and dark sugar. Flavors of candied sugar and figs, dates, plums. Finish is dry.

Dubbel with dark brown colour and malty character with spicy notes (hint of nutmeg), chocolatey malts and lightly roasted bitterness in the end, though sweet in the onset; mild herbal hoppiness.

11.2 oz bottle, very cool new label. Nose is malty and has definite Belgian yeast, also a touch meaty and with light levels of toast/roast. Some sugary candis and dark stone fruit, darker swaths of caramel/toffee. Pours dark amber-brown with a large and dense rocky beige head. Taste is watered-down Dubbel with a very airy, expansive fizzy body; strong mineral character and light-medium bitterness, but almost no sweetness at all. Very faint tang. Fully attenuated and faintly warming, the fruit and malt characters fade relatively quickly and cede dominance to lasting yeasty character, again very airy and Belgian. OK for slow-going, but not revelatory.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Brown color, huge soapy beige head that lasts for a long time. Smell and taste malts, a hint of caramel, some dark malts and brown sugar and towards the end a hint of bitter. Decent body and carbonation.

Pas de corps, beaucoup de mousse...rien de spécial. L’étiquette est très captivante par contre.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2014 Big beige and very stable head on top of a deep dark-brown beer. Chocolate and coffee/mocha fill the nose and dominate flavourwise, along with some smooth and rounded bitterness, vanilla, nuts. Aftertaste’s a little bit dry. Medium-full bodied, creamy texture, low carbonated. Nice brew.

Courtesey & thanks to Kraddel. 33 cl. bottle sampled. GUSHER, all over the place. Pours a dark brown, faint red hue, little head. Smells sour, lactic, chocolate, tart, sour milk, coffee grounds,… Tastes of minerals, sour milk and sour coffee grounds, tart, spoiled cream, chocolate, chocolate malts,… Higher carbonation, infection style. To me this tasted like infected, whatever it was, it was a drain pour.

From the $1 bin at Hop City (from old phone notes). Had to spell out the name in the phone to remember. Poured with crazy head and ample lace. Head literally lasted minutes. Smell is candied sugar, super sweet, little spice. Taste is little cardboard, cola, ripe fruits, little spice, candied sugar, toffee. Understand why this was only a dollar. Past its prime and light struck or poorly kept. Oh well still worth the dollar.
