Sweet fruity aroma. Taste matches - sweetness is caramelly, but with loads of malt too, very malty. A bit of ginger too. Very tasty and clean despite the sweetness.

Hazy orange with a bubbly, lasting white head. Aroma of citrus and spices including cinnamon. Dry and spicy flavour. Complex but very cloying spice.

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk. Pours a clear golden with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma is very spicy, the lavender jumps out at me, oranges, ginger and some sort of leaves. Lively mouthfeel. Flavour is very powerfully spiced. The lavender is still there, some flowery hops appear, a little menthol and a great warming viniousness. Not nearly as perfumy as Iíd expected from the aroma.

TFODRBSG08 Courtesy of Plovmand. Vintage 2007. It’s orange-golden with a huge head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel and raisin. The flavour has sweetness and notes of malt, caramel, yeast, citrus and a little spice.

Bottle: Gushing, cloudy with lots of floaties and an astonishing sediment, smaller, slowly collapsing off-white foamy layer; bread and exotic fruits in the nose, completed by not very well hidden traces of herbal (peppermint ?) hops; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied, creamy, soft MF; a tinge of warming alcohol (a bit brany-like) in the fruity-yeasty and bready finish. A powerful goody.......

Yellowish small head, fast gone over orangey-gold beer, with a slight haze and a lot of UFOís next. Very perfumey beer, lavender, rosemary, Canada poplar leaves, willow leaves. Very estery-spicy (Szechuan pepper?), and markedly bog myrtle, as well as again lavender (even when the ingredients donít speak about such addition). Point, if unmistakable, of restsugar, and a touch of alcohol. Medium bodied, grist slickness. Aftertaste is spicy bitterness. Spicy, rather original beer. I keep wondering about the lavender.

(33cl bottle, as Hofgrobberke 2007, Lentebier, 8.0% abv) Cloudy, orange colour with yeast flakes swimming around and a short white layer. Sweet bready malty aroma with strong spicy notes of ginger and pepper. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied, slightly fizzy carbonation. Malt-accented base yeasty and light-fruity taste with spices getting stronger towards the sweet and bready, also pretty alcoholic finish with shades of herbal hops. Imo not particularly rounded and a bit too spicy (07.IV.09).
