(Bottled, 5% ABV) Hazy amber with a small, but lasting head. Aroma of toffee-biscuity, grainy malt, some banana-citric fruitiness, and hints of yeast and vegetables. Fruity and malty flavor with some peaty smokiness (especially in the finish), some solventy notes, spices, medium bitterness, a bit harsh. Medium, neutral body with quite low carbonation. The solventy notes vanish with yeast, making the flavor actually quite enjoyable - especially for a 5% brew. Not bad.

ZBF 08. Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Interesting aroma of spices and fruits. The flavor has a yeasty character accompanied by spices and fruits, it’s also well attenuated. The body is light with an oily texture and lively carbonation. Interesting.

Bottle (ZBF2008)
Mid-orange, small head. Slightly sour aroma. Taste is a little sweet, with fruity sourness, but also somewhat better. A bit weird - malty and sticky, with a tangy harsh bitter taste. Yet another messy mish-mash from Hofbrouweijke, alas.
